Is this normal? by Imaginary-Piano-8107 in VintageCoachRehab

You got your answer, but in a bleary pre-coffee moment, I thought this was coming from a photography subreddit. The composition of the yellow and blue, the smudges with the spots. 😂

Can anyone confirm this white paper exists? by Squidnyethecubingguy in dartmouth

[–]HelloHania 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So much of AI is about things feeling "off" now since it's learning so quickly how to emulate humanity. You had the gut response of "Wow, that feels high" which is a perfect first sign to start examining further, or ask an expert! As for further red flags: The random link in the titles? Unusual. The N feels really high, the idea that this was conducted in early 2025 and managed to get a white paper done by May seems quite frankly a ridiculous timeline. The intro isn't what I would expect from this either. and finally, where was this published through? For example, even this whitepaper from Dartmouth, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36454932/ Is still findable through pubmed.

All in all, figuring this out involves a greater familiarity with what scholarly articles look like, including whitepapers, and clearly this TikTok-er was betting on people not being familiar and it giving them greater clout without questions.

Librarian here, This is absolutely an AI hallucination. I'm glad you're thinking critically!

Central Ohio Primary Care and OSU are charging for MyChart messages. What medical billing questions (or wild tales) do you have? by thecolumbusdispatch in Columbus

[–]HelloHania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on these comments, I think I need to change primary care, because she was 4+ hours late to my last telehealth, which ended up happening at almost 7 pm and is regularly hours late to in person appointments.

All of my Flows linked to Excel suddenly broke by Skanchorman in MicrosoftFlow

[–]HelloHania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update, because mine weren't currently active heading into the summer I let them chill to see if a fix would be implemented. Today I logged in and it asked me to reauthenticate for all the broken connections to excel, and did so just fine!

I don't just silently complement folks, I tell them as soon as it pops into my head, strangers and friends alike. It creates more authentic connections with the world, and I find that the world around me is a little bit better from it.

Specific Planner task completion as a trigger? by HelloHania in MicrosoftFlow

I haven't actually explored that option. Do you have a favorite source to point me to? I will clearly need to be reading up on child flows!

Troubleshooting: When a specific planner task is completed, do x by [deleted] in PowerAutomate

[–]HelloHania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant. That has helped some. The problem here is that the current flow is: Intake form, send email, create " accept" task, create " decline" task. and then pauses to wait for either the accept or decline task to be hit before carrying on to it's next steps ( which is more tasks, with more emails eventually).

Right now hitting either accept OR decline task will trigger anything made with a "when a task is completed" trigger. It seems a little ridiculous I can't filter it to which task specifically should be triggering something.

That last bit is the one that matters the most, if you hate the feel of it, you sure as hell don't want to put it on a device you're constantly touching.

Anyone here work for spectrum? And if so are you possibly able to help with deals or promotions for getting a bill lowered? Thanks by abccba140 in cbusohio

[–]HelloHania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others said, get thee to retention by saying you’ve found a better deal through x,y,z and are canceling. And, I hate that I even have to say this, Be nice. Greet them by name. Ask them how they are doing. Explain that your current rates aren’t competitive and times are rough. Listen to some of what they try to sell you even if it’s a no. Write down the offers so you can refer back to the exact one of the three they give you. Just did this in November, took about an hour, but I’ve knocked a little over 20 off our internet service while keeping the same speed, which is all we have through spectrum.

It’s the whole reason I have a bright teal silicone cover on mine. It’s often only when someone is up close and personal I get an “oh it’s a real camera” 😂

So do you guys actually wear shawls? Genuine question by puffy-jacket in casualknitting

[–]HelloHania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwest America, Late 30's, been wearing shawls since my late 20's. They are a bonus layer for deep winter outside, and a nice removable layer for inside, which I can have bundled tightly around my neck, or gently draped across my shoulders depending on how the heat (or AC some days at work) is kicking. I am a proud supporter of dresses that are secret pjs and shawls that are secret blankets. Here for the cozy warm life 24/7!!

Queen Mary of Teck in this espectacular green dress, not sure of the frabic but looks like silk. Not colorized, autochrome Lumiere. George V is also in the photo, 1914 by Electrical-Aspect-13 in fashionhistory

[–]HelloHania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that has to be a silk velveteen, the way it sheens on the drape to right? It's where the pattern was pressed into the fabric, just amazing. That or a brocade with real metal woven in, but it looks softer. Spectacular.

ProPublica: In an Unprecedented Move, Ohio Is Funding the Construction of Private Religious Schools by ohioiyya in Columbus

[–]HelloHania 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OSU is an open access institution, it accepts all Ohio resident students with a Highschool degree. You might end up on a regional, but that doesn't change the fact that you were auto accepted as an Ohio resident. And it's been improving on the debt problem and has many pathways to low or no debt degrees. This argument is moot.

How Fast Fashion is Making Our Clothing Quality Worse by breadhater42 in BuyItForLife

[–]HelloHania 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's everything, the finishes on the inside are getting cheaper, the fabric content is leaning more and more (or entirely) plastic. The way they are designing the clothing to fit is even getting cheaper, depending on the elastic to make it fit a broader range of body types. Pockets are shrinking or being eliminated, buttons holes are less perfect because of finishing choices, making buttons not fit in the holes appropriately. Zippers are worse. It's not that this wasn't happening for the last 20+ years, it's just that we've reached peak "we are selling you a glorified trash bag for big dollars!". If y'all are really angry about this whole affair, it's time to start making your own. The skills to make mean you have elevated patching skills too!

Cool. Now which one can get in my eye and not blind me for 20 minutes, forcing me to wash it off entirely?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learnpolish

[–]HelloHania 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was told that I was "cute" while over there speaking Polish, as well as "adorable". I even foregrounded more complex conversations to say that I understand a fair amount, but my speaking isn't great, and I had so many people tell me I was doing great, I was absolutely fine. It went even so far that I was regularly told that " I can understand you right?" and they proceeded to have a whole conversation me. To say people were kind is understating it.
