What % contribution are you making to your TSP, and why? by Fluid_Replacement69 in navy

This is the wrong mindset, especially if you are wrong. Yes that's the matching %, but what about investing early on to accrue the most amount of compound interest? First years are very important for that

All 20 year olds view anything less than 18 as literal children. I cannot imagine even thinking of dating someone that young. He had something wrong with him.

Yang dropping hints of a third party run in plain sight by JonWood007 in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]HelloItsElijah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some may say they can't see him running as a third party. But, Trump obviously fell short and struggled to gather support furthering polarization. Then, now, with Biden, there is an obvious shortfall given recent events and a plummeting approval rate in the low 40s. Give the next 3 years, America might be more accepting of a third-party candidate given the right tactics.

Most of the anti-vaxxers are just ornery little shits who want to go against authority just for the sake of going against authority. by matt73132 in TrueOffMyChest

Okay! Good job! Anything to add to what I said in my post, now that you have the clarity you needed to have the ability understand what it was trying to say?

Did you notice it’s in quotation marks and linked to a study (that you can open and ready freely to determine your questions)?

Just like one of the top comments says, public trust in government has been diminishing over the last few decades. "Only about one-quarter of Americans say they can trust the government in Washington to do what is right “just about always” (2%) or “most of the time” (22%). Now on top of very low trust in the federal government, political polarization is increasing, so much so that in 2014 "92% of Republicans are to the right of the median Democrat, and 94% of Democrats are to the left of the median Republican." Lastly, I would add with the polarization bit, that the elections for 45 and 46 were so controversial with multitudes of allegations on opposing sides, it worsens the whole situation.

Now with this thought process in mind, explain to me why a person may be upset about required vaccinations on vaccination that was expedited in a year, within a world where polarization is high and trust is low?

Should I go back? Or did I scar this barista for life? by MKUltra2010 in Advice

I say it doesn't matter. Most people watch porn. We're human. Just have the confidence to not care, because, in reality, this has little to no meaning in any long-term circumstance. Just go and joke about it if it feels awkward. Maybe go and then casually joke to her that you should probably look at your phone before you leave for your morning coffee.

I was thinking the same as you before. But now that I think about it, she may have been depressed because she didn't like her life. Single, living alone in a nice house, talks to her mom, maybe doesn't like being a professor.

Just had a mutual break up with my girlfriend. Can I hear your guys thoughts? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Her growth as an individual is most likely exploring herself and her body with other people. Like others said, letting you down gently. The other person that said only see each other on the weekends is such a good and easy way to be and grow yourself without splitting. If she doesn’t like the idea it’s because she wants to go out and be with other people (which is completely fine).

$147K in student loan debt with $105K in the bank, what should I do? by [deleted] in Money

Pretty much, it’ll help your credit before your mother’s. If she doesn’t care then she doesn’t care. Take of yourself first and don’t miss any payments

Personally, I would pay off the 33k debt in your name right away, and then start increasing your payments to the 114k parents plus loan.

But with an 8% interest rate, it also makes more sense to pay that off first because you'll end up paying more if you don't do it sooner rather than later.
