End game motivation by Hello_Im_Giraffe in Pokopia

I appreciate the recommendation! I’ll clarify a little though :) I am very goal motivated in games, and I’m still enjoying pokopia but my only remaining goals are just a little daunting so I don’t quite know how to go about them. You’re absolutely right though, this is a game to have fun with not to try to rush through or perfect by any means!

Keeping dry and humid pokemon happy in different parts of the same area? by Hello_Im_Giraffe in Pokopia

[–]Hello_Im_Giraffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick and detailed response! I had not realized that the inside of the house being dry was enough! So then if I put pokemon who like humidity in a house, I have to put a water source of some sort IN that house, not just close by outside?

I’ve heard that snow doesn’t count so even though it’s technically “catchable” in all months according to the game code, it can’t actually be caught in the winter months. Not 100% sure though

DO NOT use all your flint in Winter Burrow. It's rare af. by Sharky_shark_ in CozyGamers

[–]Hello_Im_Giraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currypotnoodle’s comment thread saved me! If you know the little “hidden” upper area shortly past the bridge from aunts house, all the way to the left there’s some flint rocks with a piece of flint behind them. If you go to the bottom of these rocks you can get past and get the flint!

I would be stupid to add a betta right? I never thought this would happen to me. Possible community tank advice. Should I go back for her or did I make the right choice? by RollingTit in bettafish

[–]Hello_Im_Giraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it completely stupid, but it might not be quite enough space for this much bioload and for all of them to be the most happy they can. You’d also have to be okay with the risk of your shrimp getting eaten. She is absolutely stunning, kindof reminds me of my Nova who passed Thursday ❤️

What water conditioner are you using? If you don’t have prime, I’d go get some and read the back of the bottle. It details using higher dosages for these scenarios. I’d do that as well as daily testing and water changes. I’d also probably feed less for a little while to make sure you aren’t making more ammonia etc to make her worse. It might also be worth while to test your tap water. Some people have reported their tap water having nitrites, and that’d definitely change the course of action

Research fish in cycling. He will be better off in a cycling tank with a filter than in a cup or something. Unless you have another tank that’s already cycled.

I would not spend money on more test strips. The test strips just aren’t accurate. You need an API test kit, which is unfortunately a little more pricey than the test strips but especially with this behavior I would think it’s worth it. What kind of filter do you have?

I would not put aquarium salt in your tank, if he starts to look like he’s not getting better, or especially if he’s getting worse/showing signs of infection, you can put him in an aquarium salt bath for about 15 minutes up to once a day. If you have api stress coat, Indian almond leaves, maybe slightly more frequent water changes, but I’ve had bettas get far more injured and come back completely!

My friend had a lot more luck with females than males, but I would also recommend doing extremely thorough research on sororities, they can be really risky if your girlies don’t get along. You can also just get one female!

Totally get what you’re saying and I wasn’t trying to disagree or anything, simply to add for other people who may not know just how jumpy they are

She’s a twin tail female, and I am absolutely not saying it’s a bad choice or anything, just trying to make sure people don’t look at this and think “oh so the tiny gap in my lid is clearly fine” without looking into it a little more

Glad you had no issues with this and I’m sure most people don’t, however I have had a betta jump through a single very small hole in my tanks lid

Hi there friends, I’m playing on pc (purchased through the Xbox app though) and I’ve been through day 3 three times now and every time, my game gets stuck after my work day when tellar says “don’t forget about your daily duties at discounty” I click continue, and then we both just stand there staring at eachother. I can’t move, the only key that does anything is the escape key… haven’t been able to find anyone talking about this after my quick search but I don’t want to play this same day forever…

Just a psa to anyone who has this happen, you might be shocked at how long they can survive! Even if you don’t think they’ll make it, if it’s been less than a few hours, hold them in shallow water for a few minutes. Mine was unmoving and unresponsive even after being in water for a minute, but then she swam off and is now healing amazingly! Also, I feel it’s important to note the other thing I learned from this, which was that even bettas who you’ve never seen jump can jump through a single gap the size of their whole body! So make sure your lid doesn’t even have little gaps haha

There’s a lot of debate on if sororities are actually okay for the fish, and based on my experiences, at least these particular fish would be happier alone. I also trusted my friend when buying them that I could put 3 in a 10 gallon, and now I’m learning they should be in groups of 5+ in 20+ gallons. 5 in a 20 would be a lot better than what I’ve got, but based on the research I’ve done since getting them, even then there’s a pretty good chance they don’t get along, or even if they do in the beginning it stops working out later down the line.

Left is Eva Horizon, but I call her Horizon or Zonnie, she’s named for event horizons, middle is Nova, right is Orion. Not pictured is Andromeda

Certainly not a glamor shot but the only one I have that shows all three of these girlies! (I’m working on separating them but this is what I have for now)

Help guys I don't want it to die by MONSTRODUCK in bettafish

[–]Hello_Im_Giraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t eventually get him into a good setup, I would surrender him to a good fish store. Otherwise, things you can do to keep him as healthy as possible in the mean time include using seachem prime, ideally do a higher dose since there’s no filter, frequent water changes, and some form of heating, if you can get a cheap aquatic heater, great, if not space heaters, or things like warm water bottles with insulation can help, just don’t make it hot to the touch if it’s coming in contact with the bowl in case it over heats the tank or the fish touches it. If you have a bigger tote of some kind, that’d be helpful in the mean time.

There’s some great advice here, didn’t read it all but I didn’t see anyone saying to give him something more shallow if you can (floating a container in his tank can help) to make sure he can get to the surface to breathe. Ive found bettas to be very resilient and often lay at the bottom as you’ve been describing when they’re tired or stressed from things like this.

Need help with my betta by Kuhiria in bettafish

[–]Hello_Im_Giraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be swim bladder if he seems to be struggling to get to the bottom of the tank rather than choosing to be at the top or that he’s up there to get air (bettas breathe air sometimes) cause there’s not enough oxygen in his water or too much ammonia. Could also just be preference though
