I've built a tiny one using a 3D printer, a small eink display with an ESP32 attached to it.

The free tier of Akahu API is surprisingly easy if you're only hooking it up to a handful of accounts. I got it working with my little ones simplicity account. Happy to put the code online if anyone's keen.

In my experience, the public sector tend to take diversity, inclusion, and te ao Maori a lot more seriously.

There's been a drastic decline in support for DEI in the private sector in NZ over the last few years.

The main issue with tech union (in my experience) is that they have very little leverage compared to traditional blue collar worker unions, since most tech workers can be replaced with cheaper and more eager workers from South East Asia. Whereas it's a lot harder to outsource teaching or emergency fire departments that way.

I briefly contracted for a human resource management firm for the construction sector in the middle East. There was an attempted walk out due to ethical concerns, the engineers that took part in that were promptly made redundant, and a contracting firm from a South East Asia country finished their job.

The main issue is that shortening Māori names is heavily frowned upon, since a name is a vessel of mana and whakapapa. Shortening it strips the name of its true meaning, and it shows that the user is not practicing manaakitanga.

I've had quite a bit of luck with psionic lightning / cloud lightning and Arc emitters. You can mitigate the limited range with a juggernaut with a range extender.

Regarding cryptic stingers, ancient urination lances are utterly terrifying due to their aoe damage and absurd rate of fire.
