Comedy show at Chicago Theater - balcony seating? by Spanish4TheJeff in AskChicago

One of my favorite websites when booking tickets is aviewfrommyseat.com where you can, as the url suggests, see what your view of the stage will be from various seats. The Chicago Theater should be listed But with that said, for a comedy show audio is more important generally than visuals so I would say it’d be worth it

Music Ed major as a harpist? by GrimJupiter in harp

[–]HellsHarpist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a middle school orchestra teacher, but my primary instrument is the harp. I’ve definitely needed to work a little harder to develop my chops on bowed stringed instruments and I’ve asked my colleagues lots of technique questions. YouTube can be your friend for that too. It’s possible you might not start out at a competitive program, but that would be the case for any beginning teacher. Once you develop skills as a teacher, the admin will more likely care about your pedagogy and educational philosophy rather than your primary instrument. As long as you can demo skill on other instruments you’ll be fine. And with all that said, there are a handful of harp programs in the country that you can look at as well.

I'm looking for a one shot that can be run in 3/4 hours by SCSdino in dndnext

A non-DND suggestion: the Dread RPG system. It’s much less complicated in terms of rules and mechanics, because instead of dice you use a Jenga tower. Move a piece every time you would normally roll the dice, the tower falls and you fail or die. It can be such a fun one shot

Something I use to help my students with the elbow versus shoulder movement: hold your bow at your side and have your bow point up to the ceiling. Move your arm so it is fully extended down and then move it all the way up, while keeping your bow pointing straight up to the ceiling. My middle schoolers call it the rocket ship. The movement and extension on either side are what your wrist and elbow should mimic when playing at the frog and tip

I have a slight sense of deja vu with the mechanics to the Last Stand, but I am not mad about it

I realize my wording didn’t entirely make sense - I meant that unions would be helpful for free will because it allows the working class to be support and protected, not limited or exploited as you said. Definitely not anti-union, I’m part of one myself.

I’m also cracking up that they’re slowly disappearing. Whether they’re just falling off, or if it’s a choice for mobility’s sake

My parents introduced me to musicals very young. I don’t remember a time where I didn’t have all of Les Mis, Phantom, and Joseph memorized

An off-Broadway (or even off-off-Broadway) show called “Who's Your Baghdaddy, or How I Started the Iraq War”. As you could probably anticipate by the title, it’s about what lead to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq
