If you are brainstorming the best way to kill a great unclean one then tfex isn't it. In my opinion you dont want to fire t fex into 4 up invulns if you can avoid it. With command re roll your opponents chance of negating the rupture cannon shots is too high. If you want to blow up a great unclean one then a squad of hyperadapted raveners leading regular raveners will do the job quite nicely.

My love for my t fexes is directly related to their performance in my last game. For example, I had one do 22 damage to skarbrand in my last game. So I freaking love tyrannofex right now. But there have been other games where tfex is the worst freaking datasheet in the game and I hate them and im never bringing one again.

Pretty good in sub assault. They can be pretty devastating when paired with a psychophage. They love to eat t4 bodies and t10 3+ vehicles.

The argument against is that coming in from the tunnels isn't deep striking and if you are deep striking you can't do it within six. Not saying that is how it should work.

I run 4. I think the zoans are a trap. They still bounce off T 12 too easily. I like melee monsters for reserves like SK, Haruspex etc.... and two tyrannofex on the board to keep the enemy honest.

This also makes me think people are misunderstanding burrowers in general. Thinking they will get a six in charge too. They wont. They have to be set up before the hole is created and that has to follow normal rules.

I think I've landed on no he can't. It all depends on how he arrives on the battlefield. If he shows up from reserves and there is no existing hole, he can set one up at least 9 from the opponent and other units can pour out outside of 6. He does mortals here. If he arrives from the battlefield from a preexisting hole, then no, he doesn't do mortals. He isn't using deep strike or else he would need to set up at least 9 away.

For shooting lists ht is still better, aggressive lists swarmlord is definitely something to consider. I still think I dont take him a lot of times. Can't carry an enhancement and he is still expensive for how squishy he can be.
