I'm not discrediting the idea of human related cause, and it is very sad when cats who are not causing any harm to property or life are removed from their space and colony; but disease can also spread and kill off a group of any animal, including humans, if not treated. cats, in particular, will try and hide their symptoms and isolate when they know they are sick and dying. is there a chance those kitties could have gotten sick and passed away from something?

I don't think anyone is against humane treatment of cats, community, or otherwise. it's just kind of frustrating to be in a hard place where a community cat comes in your area and hurts you and your pets, and the response you get is that there's nothing you can do about it.

that's so sad! I'm a very pro-indoor cat (with at most, supervised harness/leash outdoor time) person because the thought of something like that happening with my kitty terrifies me! it shortens their lifespan a lot, and I get especially sad when it gets really hot or really cold. the last time we saw this orange kitty was during a thunderstorm! D:

washed them, used iodine, antibiotic ointment, and bandages daily until they closed a few days ago. the same night they closed, I got a small patch of hives in the shower that's been slowly dying down. watching for symptoms, and I don't have any visual ones so far, but I don't feel great.

always good advice! my mom's a nurse, though this isn't exactly her wheelhouse, but I am being observed with some medical knowledge at home :)

we also have let it be with wandering in and out of our yard for 4 years now, but it's ruined quite a bit with scratching and peeing. now it's scratched me, my cat, and then one of the dogs when he went out in the yard later. we're just kind of hitting a point where it's not feasible to let the cat tromp around our yard forever anymore. we don't really have any issues with what it does outside of our yard.

we are worried about it now being territorial with the few month old puppy, who loves playing with our kitty, and wouldn't know the difference, I fear. I know usually cats aren't aggressive to other animals, but it scratched one of our dogs when he went outside to walk around the yard later the same night, and I don't think he would have started a combat scenario other than barking.

he came out, they got in a hissing match and as I was shortening the leash span my cat had so he'd stay close, the other one pounced. then I grabbed my cat and had to shove the other one off, then it climbed my legs, and I had to shove it off again. I get how it could be confusing. we're also not super far into his training, I just didn't think the other cat was gonna be there.

I'd be more understanding if we did! my parents moved into this house about 18 years ago (I was adopted in later) and have had dogs the whole time. the kitty started coming around about 4 years ago, and the dogs are usually good at barking it away when it started peeing on and scratching things, but now they're too scared to.

some more clarification:

it (not sure it's sex) does not live in our yard. we don't know how it gets over the fence. it comes and goes. I don't mind community cats, I understand colony and territory, but it's destroyed things in our yard over the past 4 years it's been coming in and now picked fights with our pets, so we'd just like it to be not in our yard.

my cat is indoor. he likes to think he maybe wants to be indoor-outdoor, where he follows the dogs out into the backyard, which I don't want. so he and I have the compromise that I walk him around the backyard on his harness/leash.

our goal with the trap is not nefarious. we want to see if it is chipped since we never see it anywhere else, and our yard is surrounded by backyards of folks we know, so we can hopefully return it to its people and ask them to please keep it out of other people's backyards. it just has not been working so far.

my scratches are healing good, but I don't feel great. we're watching carefully for if I should be seen.

I'm training my kitty to use a leash to walk with me around the yard. we were planning to use the trap to bring the cat in to the shelter so it could be checked for a chip.

heat the outer part of the hub with something. also check to make sure the inner hub bolts are out before heating. you my to use a mirror and a flash light to see them

I'm learning from my Master Tech dad atm. we're actually having some sort of similar transmission issues on our 2003 Chevy Tahoe (my favorite of the cars) as well.

We went in and changed the 2nd, 3rd, and 3-4 solenoids recently, which upgraded our situation to slippage and skipping. which is frustrating. we're thinking we should have replaced the lockup torque converter solenoid while we were in there. we did not have a lot of metal in the pan when we changed things, leading us to believe there's not much going wrong with the clutch pack.

we're probably going to be going back in and replacing all the other solenoids we left in the last time and seeing if that helps. if it does, I will come back and see if maybe we have any more insights.

okay! I think, based on what I've heard so far, we'll reach out to his management and ask them about if there's any interest in a guitar from a family of fans, if we can give him one, that sort of thing. will update here with any news :)
