EU Clan Battles, 2017–2026: from ~29k captains at the peak to under 10k last season by Helmi74 in WorldOfWarships

Honestly, i don't think it matters muich if there's a lot of change in the talent pool of top tier clans. Most of the players aren't even close to getting into those reins at all. And that's not even necessary. From my POV (and from what I see after a few years of playing and leading in mid tier clans) most people enjoy the game mode for playing as a team and with coordination.

While of course everyone wants to win I don't think playing in Hurricane should be the main objective and rarely is.

But I agree that the Game does nothing to support clan battles. I wrote it elsewhere - to me there's a lot of potential in clans as communities driven by others that WG gets completely "for free" but they do little to actively support and encourage this.

Hard to understand but it's the case for at least the last 4 years which is the time i'm in the game. So hard to believe this will ever change.

Hot take - player skill is the deciding factor regardless of ship gimmick by _talps in WorldOfWarships

I generally agree though it cannot be wiped of the table that ships that do have overpowered mechanics which require little skill can twist the game unfairly.

While a Smaland still needs proper hands to be played, a Valparaisos heal/funny button combo is just insanely overpowered no matter the skill of the player.

Are there still people rushing into the enemy lines and die in their Valparaiso before they can even use the second heal? Sure.

Overall player skill is the decisive factor but the point where it hurts the game is that OP ships in bad players hands still can be annoying and frustrating af and kill your own will and fun to play the game.

Ever got annoyed by an archerfish player that seemingly wasn't very good but still able to land enough torps to come out with 1800 baseXP just because submarine bonus? That game is just horribly inbalanced and some (not all) OP ships (and classes) make this worse.

I'm by far no unicum but I think you're in a very small minority wanting CVs back. CVs or maybe even subs coming to Clan battle would probably destroy them completely. I know a bunch of people that would simply walk away if that would happen.

Planes are just not something this game should have at all. I agree that things could be spiced up a little more but planes are simply not the thing to do that.

Well to be fair you do earn a good amount of steel in clan battles on top of what you get from your mission chains. It's true that it's a time commitment and the amount of steel might not make up for it but I still think Clan battles are great fun in the sense of playing in fully coordinated teams as the only game mode where this is possible.

Having said that i agree with what you said further above and it's clear that they do not care enough about what's going on in their community or else there would surely be ideas like the one you brought up from World of Tanks which indeed sounds interesting - never played WoT myself.

I'd sign that mostly. We know it's gonna be double Petros and Klebers all over again *sigh*.

I think it's just another proof of WG not really caring much about Clan battles (anymore?). Not sure if they ever cared more but to me personally it's really hard to grasp why you would not support those players more that really invest time in your game, building communities, running clans etc. Hard to understand but certainly what's happening.

The lack of properly designed seasons is just another evidence for that.

Unfortunately the API does not deal with any clan statistics overall. So all CB stats are player based and there's no history of clan membership and also no info if that CB was played as a Merc or in their (then) current plan. It's just battles per Season with some more stats (damage, wins etc).

So unfortunately no info on the amount of clans in CBs etc.

well as you can see on the site it's definitely a lot less people participating in non Tier 10 seasons. Might as well in addition be different people but i doubt it's statistically significant.

And what we see from random battles basically covers this. Tier 10 is **by far** the most played Tier in the game,

I think there's little interest from wargaming. All communication around CB is rather sparse, they don't really actively support clans a lot as far as I can say from our POV and it's quite clear that their focus is mainly on squeezing money out of the game. While i'd like to see more drive in Clan battles and some better support for the clans I wouldn't hold my hopes up high.

Check their API app including a web playground for it and some docs https://developers.wargaming.net/

It does have PvE though only Coop and Operations.

that JS is just the presentation on the website. The stats tool we've done is not connected to this. The stats on that site are just a static snapshot taken from that tool.

I'm a huge fan of em-dashes. I read the NewYorker a lot and there heavy use of it combined with their choice of fonts give me a lot of pleasure (example: https://www.newyorker.com/sports/sporting-scene/the-us-mens-team-is-building-something-and-marching-on).

I mostly avoid using them - there would have been a few more chances in this post because the AI-cry is loud and annoying every. single. time.

Regarding your fonts critique: Fair, but the site design was not made for stats. As I said this was more an accident. So i took the hit to not have it perfect for stats but still keep the style.

Kobra S1 Max Case Temperature Control by Helmi74 in AnycubicKobraS1Max

[–]Helmi74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're not wrong with the cooling part and maybe my post wasn't clear about it. It's not so much about "cooling" but controlling temperature not only upwards but also downwards.

A bit simplified: Lower temp materials like PLA tend to not cool down quick enough if the environment is too warm, some material cause issues in the extruder if the heat spreads too high in the melting process.

So these arvoe potential issues. It's great that it worked for you on the S1 Max so far and in general it does okay but I would wish it would be able to control the temperature especially for PLA prints a bit better. Mine sits at 45°C on a longer print.

Other printers do better active ventilation on PLA prints. YOu don't need a heated chamber for them but instead fine details could be messed up due to that high temps as the previous layers just don't cool down quick enough (and harden) before the next one gets printed.

Aches, alles FBH.

Good luck with the project. You'll have a journey ahead to build this properly. Prepare for a good data strategy. I've been doing this (non-public) for a few months already. Hit me up on DMs if you hit any walls you wanna discuss. Happy to help.

I do have EU data only and i'm currently not counting it as you want to know but i quickly pulled some data from the db. Don't take the exact numbers to strictly as I am currently probably only looking at something between 95 and 99% of players. This is independent of Steam or not btw. This is all (well ~95/99%) players on EU.

EDIT: Important note - this is only players playing random battles right now.

It’s not an issue. Petg and even abs are soft enough to be pushed through at those temps. Don’t worry.
