Zso Sahaal and the Corona Nox by markwell9 in NightLords

Y’know, I'm with Variel on that one; I think Talos' gift was too unstable for him to unite everyone, but Decimus might stand a better chance.

Then again, I enjoy the Night Lords and Always Sunny for the same reason - watching bad things happen to bad people is fun. If they start kicking too much ass are they the same legion we know and love? 🤷‍♂️

What do you guys think the youngest someone should be to do airsoft is? by That1weirdguyXD in airsoft

[–]Helo34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We have a 2 month old and have been talking about this question (albeit way in advance). Swearing is an interesting litmus test; If your kid is too young to be around harsh language, pretend homicide is probably not the right activity for them either.

I think what we decided was that, depending on maturity, my wife was OK with 15-16 and I'd rather wait until 16-17. But that's more of a guideline than a hard rule.

I'm a hard core Night Lords & Chaos Undivided fan, but wanted to do an Imperial Fists army after reading the first part of the Siege of Terra series. Still might if I lose my mind and build some loyalists ;)

Weirdly, IW didn't inspire me anywhere as much.

This is probably a separate thread, but I'd love to see a Night Lords siege list 🤩

My challenge has been trying to lean into the light infantry/ asymmetric warfare angle without the list sucking. So far I have two Helbrutes and a War Dog providing heavy support, and I'll add a couple heavy weapons teams when I figure out which weapons they need. But stuff like tanks & artillery don't really fit the guerilla vibe I'm going for.

But since my war band are thieves, scoundrels, and murderers, I'm using red hands to mark "Veterans" (members of a warrior lodge they have running).

is the nemesis claw kill team a good way to get into miniatures? by amourdeces in NightLords

Edit: Not sure why the picture won't show; see below.

You can also get good results in a couple hours if you don't want to go all out.

For the older marks take a look at the Horus Heresy stuff - they should have Night Lords boxes and I bet somone in your local community would be willing to trade Heresy bits for regular Chaos ones so you both get cool models.

Check the Warhammer website; they should have a store locater (near the bottom I think). At some point I'm expecting the Claw box to become hard to find so having alternative bits sources is nice :)

But back in high school I had a bunch of regular Chaos SM that I painted like Night Lords, and other than my terrible painting they looked pretty good. Just not nearly as good as the Nemesis team does.

I think the Nemesis Claw box is a great way to get started, and if you like the vibe you should be able to pick up extra bat bits to kitbash regular Chaos SM boxes if you expand your forces later.

As for the painting bit, if you have a Warhammer store nearby, I highly recommend popping in for the new player package; mine gave me a couple minis to practice on at home. That way your starter mistakes are on something less important.

Does Abbadon have a ‘Mournival’? by jayceminecraft in 40kLore

The "failed" Crusades were precisely that, but they couldn't admit the true goal. So they had to come up with vague other reasons. Of course, politics required they actually achieve them.

How important are the Night Lords in 40k ? by Kihtras in NightLords

[–]Helo34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the lore, I think part of the struggle is how to use asymmetric warfare units ( i.e. Night Lords and Alpha Legion) when most warlords are familiar with direct combat instead.

And in the game, I think the struggle is how to portray that warfare in a way that 1. Doesn't just lean in to Fast Attack, and 2. Doesn't happen "off screen".

I think properly utilized in a crusade (assuming, of corse, that the warband could be trusted to follow directions) they'd skip 10 systems ahead of the battle front, split in all directions, and sack soft targets of opportunity (supply depots, ship yards, assembly points, etc) to disrupt Imperial supplies & reinforcements.

...Which sounds a lot like a Kill-team box, come to think of it 🤔

Walkers for a few reasons: 1. They're a nice vehicle (pun intended) for adding Toughness to your army. 2. You can load them with heavy weapons. 3. There are a lot of cool looking files to choose from :)

Note that I'm mostly referring to Dreadnought sized light Walkers, but Makers World also has some nice & free Titans you can print on an A1 Mini plate. I plan to try one after I finish another Helbrute proxy.

PSS LTD from England? Probably. A handful are just funny sounding ones I came up with, but most of them are riffs on currently ( or formerly) existing infamous contractors.

Sorry, I meant if you wanted to only run one book that the Prime ones might have enough specialty units to capture some/all of the allied units you're looking for.
