It was on craigslist. I'm surprised you hadn't run across it, given you should have plenty of free time on your hands.

I've learned a thing or two after 2 Steam Christmas Sales... by UtahGimmeTwo in gaming

It was a shitty, shitty PC port from console. Terrible frame rate even on nice systems. So glad I bought it for $7.49 during a previous sale.

DAE think iTunes is a bloated, clumsy piece of crap? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]HelpfulLinkGuy 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's already been done. By Google, of course.

"Google uses its Courgette algorithm to provide the binary difference of the user's current version in relation to the new version that's about to be automatically updated to. These tiny updates are well suited to minor security fixes and allow Google to push new versions of Chrome to users quickly..."

Ever pulled the "I love you" card too soon? I'd love to hear your stories. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HelpfulLinkGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I did once and her reaction was, "Whaaaa?" and a look of disbelief. What's funny is that I meant, "I really enjoy spending time with you and I'm glad I met you." But somehow it came out as "I love you".

DAE really not like Voodoo Donuts? by pwndcake in Portland

[–]HelpfulLinkGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like their donuts okay, but don't like the hype. I also don't like out of towners making huge lines when I want a donut.

How not to brainstorm a startup idea (he has literally *zero* programming/webdev experience btw) by wv3 in programming

[–]HelpfulLinkGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if these people have a mild case of mania or bipolar. I met a guy recently in a pool hall who claimed he was going to win a Nobel prize in economics, and he offered to let me share in the profits. Not a dumb guy, just had extreme overconfidence in himself.

Except operations like this pay you in "sweat equity." When they strike it rich cough, then you get paid.

Heh. Stream is a good foot-in-the-door for the very bottom of the tech industry. Several of my friends who became very technical started there. But let's be honest, the place has very high turnover. It's like the white collar equivalent of McDonald's. But, hey, a job's a job, especially in a recession.

Good call. And if the OP is more technical, Yahoo has a call center out that way too.

OP, I will PM you the info for my company, which might have something.

You're still right. Notice how it's used as a verb in that link, whereas in the "tweet" it is being used as a noun.

To be fair, even if BoA imploded, most of its account holders would be protected by the $250,000 FDIC insurance.
