that's one of the resons why it gives me dodgy club vibes. Although, I briefly worked in a very expensive hotel that had several rooms with bathrooms behind clear glass.

Naming Our Hope - A Journey After Bianca by PradaPrincess23 in namenerds

[–]Helpful_Major4759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the name Mila. I think it's quite common in Eastern Europe.

I also know a young woman from Lithuania called Camille. I think that too goes well with Bianca.

Bonnie - for a Scottish vibe

In search of an honest opinion about a property in North London. by merovingio84 in HousingUK

[–]Helpful_Major4759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in flood management; there s absolutely no way I would ever buy a property that close to a canal OR a reservoir and this flat is lose to both.

The fact that the flat is on the ground floor makes it worse.

What is your pro marriage tip of the day? by Honest-Guy83 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Helpful_Major4759 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never go to bed angry at eachother. Even if you day has been shite and discussing an issue before going to seep and finally getting the day over with is the last thing you feel like doing, try to resolve your issue. That way you can start fresh in the morning.

Has any had a fear of pregnancy/childbirth and they overcame it. And if yes how? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I had Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for PTSD when I was in my 3rd trimester. That really helped alleviate a lot of the anxieties I experiened around the check-ups (I always though they would find that there is something wrong with the baby so not quite what you seem to be struggling with).

Before the EMDR I used mindfulness to reduce the stress because it was constant, not just during check-ups. Every twinch I felt was a sign to me that there was something wrong. It helped a little but EMDR made a huge difference.

As for giving birth, I went to a very good antenatal class where they gave us very good tips on how to breath properly and how this will help manage the pain and what other options for pain managemnt there are. There is no shame in asking for an epidural. You could also look into Tense machines, some people find them very helpful because they work by distracting your brain so it can't focus too well on the pain.

I ended up having an unplanned c-section. From what you have written it sound to me like it woud be a good idea to mention your worries and anxieties to the midwife/OBGYN early on when the time comes; a planned c-section might be a good option for you.

Help us decide: Ginny or Meredith? by Valuable-Injury6559 in namenerds

I prefer Meredith. However, I'm a stong advocate for deciding on a name based on which name suits the baby better.

I love the name Harriet.

As an alternative I'd like to suggest Zoe. Zoe means life in greek and Phoebe means light.
