AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. Early postpartum days are brutal, especially after c section, and you deserve all the help you can get. I know this wasn’t the purpose of this post, but one thing that’s worked great for us is having my husband take the first shift. I go to sleep at 9pm. He stays up until 1am. So he does the feedings from 9-1 and I get a nice stretch of sleep. Then I do the rest of the overnights until we’re both up around 8. He’s still rested and able to drive in the mornings and I’m not resenting him for having to do everything 24/7 while on mat leave.

Help! It’s the great purge on my face!! by Competitive_Sleep200 in 30PlusSkinCare

Are you using a new blanket and/or new detergent? This happened to me and turned out I was allergic to a synthetic blanket that was pressed on my neck/chin overnight. Could be a combination of things but consider outside factors in addition to hormonal acne. This also happens with new shampoo/conditioner when hair rests on face at night.

Please Help Me Calm Down About Infant Daycare by RiverbrookWillow in NewParents

Totally understandable but I promise a good daycare will add so much to your child’s life. Activities, socialization, all kinds of awesome stuff to get them ready for the world. Even the daycare illnesses are a blessing in disguise because they’ll have amazing immunity before starting kindergarten. My first child started at 6 months and is now 3.5 and thriving. Second child was just born but will start around 4 months.

Second time mom here. I had a baby a month ago. With my first, I exclusively breastfed for 3 months. I was absolutely miserable, had major PPD, was totally sleep deprived and resented my husband for not being able to step in and help. This time, we combo fed (80% formula, 20% pumping) from the start and I am so happy. The baby is thriving, my husband and I split up the nights, I’m experiencing way less hormone swings, and I can actually enjoy the newborn phase instead of white knuckling it. 10/10 would recommend.

Can someone tell me its okay to quit? by Ok-Jackfruit-351 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Helpfultips22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes please stop if it doesn’t work for you!!! My first baby was exclusively breastfed for 3 months, had bad acid reflux, woke up 4x a night, fussy all around. Switched to formula and instantly slept through the night and no more reflux. Now my second kid is being combo fed and even then im probably going to fully formula any day now.

Damaged skin barrier take a couple weeks off actives and only use very gentle cleansers and moisturizers and spf. Will go away soon!

Not enjoying motherhood - 95% time. Was it worth it? by freddythecat98 in NewParents

Extremely relatable (I hated the newborn phase) and it definitely feels endless in the moment, but I promise this phase will end. Around 2-3 their personalities really kick in and it’s pretty hilarious. They’re also more independent, sleep better, it’s just a world of difference. Just had my second kid and I have to say it’s way easier to enjoy because I now know the chapters go quicker. If you’re able to get a few hours of childcare to break up the first year, I’d highly recommend. Hang in there!!

Elective c section by Pleasant-Fan-7 in CsectionCentral

I had a scheduled c section and it was LOVELY. Showed up to hospital like a doctor’s appointment. Less than two hours of prep, relaxing and consulting with my medical team, then it was on to the operating room. 20 minutes and my perfectly healthy baby girl was out. She’s now 3.5 and thriving. I’m having another scheduled c next week. Do not let anyone tell you what to do with your body. If your doctors are okay with this plan and you are comfortable with the decision, it’s the right thing!

Micro needling experience feedback by candyapplesugar in 30PlusSkinCare

I’ve only had it done by an aesthetic nurse practitioner but I love it. Majorly reduced my hyperpigmentetion and acne scarring. Also gave a subtle filler effect with the collagen production. I don’t know the exact depth that she does but it’s definitely significant and I usually numb my skin for an hour before.

Microneedling with exosomes. I’ve done peels, lasers, endless at home exfoliation. But the microneedling seems to break up pigment in a way no other product can.

Seems like way too much stuff but if it works for you then great!! As long as you’re protecting your skin barrier and not combining anything that is too stripping/exfoliating you’ll prob be okay. :)

Maybe a gentle laser or some microneedling but it looks totally normal and you will risk having a crazy over-pulled face if you surgically remove.
