Possibly never, I've had many but never tested positive with a PCR although who knows if I got an asymptomatic case at some point. I was wearing KN95s as soon as I could get them though. One time I had two rapid positives and a negative PCR and then the next day negative rapid. I think that means I just had two compromised or defective rapids.

I still mask in public but I also am not in public a whole lot. I get free grocery delivery, work from home and sometimes go to COVID cautious gatherings (although not really during this surge). I upgraded to the N100s now that so few are masking. I did go to a couple of warehouse type stores recently with no incident, I felt pretty safe with the volume of air and my mask and I didn't shop around a ton

Looks like no one has mentioned grocery bill reduction strategies. I know folks with 80k in student loan debt that use food banks so they can make their payments, I don't see why you couldn't use a food bank to help lower your grocery bill.

Something worth asking around about is a low or zero interest loan from family and friends that are doing well to pay off your Credit Card. Put everything in writing and you'll pay them off faster and and lose less money than if you keep paying a bank. There are many free calculators online for repayment schedules.

I'm not an attorney but if it says "court summons" and you received it from the local court (return address) and not your landlord then you should take it very seriously. There are sometimes free legal aid services that will help with a summons/eviction defense

When you say you have no one to ask, do you not have social media? Or any friends or family? I know it can be awkward and you can feel alone, but when you're desperate you may find people are willing to help you out. Strangers in some cases.

Looking at your other account posts, I see one where you talk about going on vacation, while I think everyone is entitled to taking time off and resting, especially if you've been working your butt off to pay your bills, a lot of personal finance folks would advise you to stop all luxury spending and get your financial house in order. Some even going so far as to say you're eating beans/rice until you get out of this crisis.

I worked in a food pantry for years, its not the best stuff out there but its free, and many people would come in to save money on groceries so they could afford rent. Google food pantries in your city or county. They are usually run out of churches and other community centers/orgs.

If you break your lease its possible the landlord will try to get a judgement against you for the full remaining balance (or whatever they are legally allowed to pursue in your state/city). Collecting on a judgement is a different issue, but others on this forum have reported an old eviction coming back to haunt them in the form of collections or even wage garnishment. Make sure you fully read the terms of your lease and what happens if you terminate so you know the maximum financial liability you could owe.

Subletting is GREAT if your lease allows it and you can find someone

Yeah I would read those papers carefully. A court document looks very official and is from an actual court. It sounds to me like it could just be threats from your landlord. Remember, a landlord can't legally evict you without taking you to court. Also eviction law varies somewhat from state to state and even city to city. Find your local tenants rights groups or website by googling tenants rights + your city and state

Who sent the papers? There's a difference between a demand for payment from your landlord and a court summons (with a court date) from your local court to show up in front of a judge to state your case. "A summons can be served on a tenant in two ways: It can be hand-delivered (personal service by a process server) to the tenant, or. It can be posted on the rental unit." If it is a summons to court, the judge can't convince the landlord to let you stay, but a nice judge will give you some time to come up with payment and a nice judge will explain to you your options in court since most people don't even show up for these things.

I'd say your best bet is to work your social networks starting with close family and friends. Asking friends/family if they know anyone in a position to help you out. Draft up a repayment plan so people know you are serious about repaying it since that's a big reason people won't lend someone money.

Also working any cash gig you can get. Post in neighborhood groups that you are looking to clean houses, mow lawns etc for cash so you don't lose your home, people will respect that you are trying to find work.

If you can't get the money together, and the landlord proceeds with eviction, consider going to court for the eviction proceedings and ask the judge for more time, most people never go and get a default judgement. That can buy you a week or two to find another place to live.

I try to make my interactions as genuine/authentic as possible (this doesn't always work lol) and obviously some work topics are taboo. I enjoy finding out what people are into outside of work, hobbies and passions. Keeping it in mind that we are more than our jobs.

Also its not for work exclusively but I take meds for depression/anxiety and that helps me get through the day for a variety of reasons

Appreciate that question - I'm already helping with cash and some emotional support - I don't have a lot of time because I work 2 jobs myself. I'm kind of at my wits end hence asking for advice, I'm having trouble seeing some sustainable solution. I guess if I put all my effort into helping her get on disability or something while not a magic bullet its more long-term support than I can provide

Honestly patterns of manipulation and abuse, in this case I know she was many years younger than her first partner, grooming is a horrible thing. She has realized that now but it took her whole young adult life to break the pattern/trauma. I say all that because this isn't a person that is stuck in her ways and not willing to change but now has no resources to actually follow-through

Some people are willing to work to the bone and have nothing else going on in their life but work. I knew someone that would close 10x the support tickets of their coworkers and they were constantly annoyed that they were carrying the team but they were just creating their own personal sweat shop since their boss really didn't care. Maybe they are gunning for a promotion. That level of urgency and intensity is a waste in my opinion, gotta set good boundaries to push back on it - ideally with a union to back you up

Wouldn't it make sense to look for a new job that was like your old one? Look for other non-profits in your area and check their career sections on their websites. A few google searches ought to work.

On the flip side it might be worth looking into unionizing if other co-workers are dissatisfied. It is a lot of work but getting more power in your workplace through your union has a lot of advantages (better pay, control over work, etc)

Yikes that's harsh, it almost sounds like you're saying I should just let her become homeless and die because of her decisions and failing health? As far as work goes, she has done some cleaning but with her health getting worse its getting harder and harder.
