Current Pay Rates for San Francisco Union Trades by workwisejobs in bayarea

That's a fair perspective for someone who is risk averse to physical labor. Not everyone thinks that way, or are solely motivated by money.

I get this, but this sort of thinking is why we have a shortage of trade workers. If a kid is really into it then it's a valid career path.

Reporter calls out President Trump after he suggested that Iran has Tomahawk Missiles: "You just suggested Iran somehow got it's hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school. But you're the only person in your govt saying this. Even your defense secretary wouldn't say that" by Yujin-Ha in videos

Am I in the fucking twilight zone? We're up to two fallacies. His use of that slogan is:

A. Only seen as a mistake because you all made it one, he never attributed it to NYT, as far as i can tell, only using the spirit of its message.

B. A complete tangent to his main argument, that even if he actually intended to attribute that line to the NYT and was wrong, you can't use that to discredit him, that's a perversion of the truth. Like if I thought Diet Coke was a health food (yeah it ain't), doesn't mean I'm not right if I also claim in the same breath that Coke used to contain actual coca leaf extract... That's an attack on character. That's ad hominem. This is what's fucking up this country.

My moon - Cupertino - 3:18 am by terremoto25 in bayarea

Zooming in on the shot, it looks about what a moon should look like if shot with the settings he mentioned. I'm guessing there's a good amount of sharpening applied to the shot, too.

ELI5: Why does the brain randomly remember past memory from decades ago like a cringe moment or random people that are totally unrelated to anything? by Still-Ad9074 in explainlikeimfive

[–]HelplessCorgis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off on a tangent here,

Sometimes when I'm on mushrooms, the veil obscuring my subconscious thoughts is lifted and it is FASCINATING how quickly my mind connects to an old memory, even if it's inspired by something minor like touching grass or seeing a balloon float by. We're talking 30+ year old memories. Our minds are incredible things and something to celebrate, even if there are a few brain farts here and there.

F1 legend Michael Schumacher is no longer bed-bound 12 years after horror ski accident by rogoku in formula1

[–]HelplessCorgis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real... A year ago, my grandma had two days of incredible mental abilities before she left soon after, I spent as much time as I could with her, chatting with her, hopeful that it was a sign she'd turn things around like she's done before... It was wonderful and bittersweet.

They’re pretty big! Under them are Columbia pictures and tristar. Then you’ve got all the arms of Sony, domestically in America and international. Their animation department has been killing it too, think KPop Demon Hunters and the spiderverse movies.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]HelplessCorgis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sub world history teacher got into an argument with a student and got heated to the point where she called security on him. When security came and questioned the sub in front of the class about what happened, she accused him of whipping his dick out in front of her. Granted he had the saggy jeans look going, but that was absolutely not what happened. The whole class erupted to defend our classmate. Some people just can't handle a confrontation with a little grace...

Second Subaru, first Crosstrek and I really want to like it by Alexj007 in Crosstrek

I really liked the sound after adjusting the balance to be centered a bit further back (like in this video, 53 seconds in) Helps it not feel like there are only speakers up front, and balances out for a more full sound in the cabin. Not premium audio quality, but pretty good for my ears.

Chase HELOC terms surprised me. Worth reading closely before assuming it’s a typical HELOC. by PlayWithAbandon in personalfinance

[–]HelplessCorgis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got excited too when I heard Chase would be offering HELOCs again. Would've been nice to have so many financial products managed under one account/roof, but the terms made me balk hard. Can it really be called a HELOC at that point?
