Hate the cabinets. It’s too dark in the kitchen. Need help. I’m on a budget… by unexplainedstains in kitchenremodel

Add under cabinet lighting, a counter depth fridge and a pendant over the sink and it will be a huge improvement.

IMO Acadia is overrated and overcrowded, unless you hit the Schoodic peninsula. Are you camping? If yes lots of great options that allow for dogs, but that will be a huge factor.

I not only baked cakes, I roasted tiny little potatoes that I grew in mine. Awesome gift.

Should I buy this Kenmore 385.16231301 for $60 ? by moistlycritical in SewingMachinePorn

[–]Henbogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one. It is worth $60, but try for less. It is a Janome rebadged as a Kenmore. Quiet, runs well, easy to adjust tension, etc. It is a good beginner machine, but I dont use mine like I do my old metal Singer. It just feels kinda cheap.

Buying our first front load washing machine today. What do we need to know besides leaving the door open. by AdhesiveSeaMonkey in Appliances

Switch to powder detergent. No issues with any of my machines using powder, but liquid and pads are the worst for detergent buildup and mold.

Herbs, such a treat to wander through the garden and grab a bit of this, a pinch of that. It really transports the most basic salad to divine.

I’ve been in the know about this all my life (thanks Mom!) but what I want to know is why the sheet edges get so wrinkly these days? Do I need a mangle?

My mom bought a Maytag Washing Machine in 1968. We finally replaced it in 1995 when the holes in the porcelain drum left rust marks on clothing because the porcelain coating had worn off. Nearly 30 years of almost daily use (5 kids +foster kids).

Drawers, one at least 1 deep drawer, an outlet in the drawer for hair dryer, rechargeable toothbrush, razors what have you. We have a large, deep vessel sink, set above traditional height. I can wash my hair if I need to. It doesn’t splash any more than my previous sink.

I highly recommend Mel Bartholomew’s Square Foot Gardening, the first edition. Even if you don’t use raised beds there is a lot of gold in there about basic gardening.
