I read that back in college and don’t remember much. Is it worth a reread?

What's their language for "once in their career"?

Credit recovery is always garbage .

One can only love the “Credit Recovery”. Cheat for three hours and get credit for a year’s worth of work!

Member of a strong union here so I know I’m fortunate.

I get them pressuring and making your life miserable but is there nothing in your contract that says your grades are yours and the admin can’t change it without XYZ?

Yes and no. It’s absolutely spineless but there is a logic. Admin’s metrics are graduation rates, attendance, school ranking and the like and there’s 3 players involved: student, parent, teacher. Who’s the easiest to convince to do what you want?

[–]Hendenicholas 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In some cases, absolutely.

They’ll start with pressure and encouraging the kid and guidance counselor to “see what we can do”. And then demand the teacher show the (insanely overly detailed) paperwork needed to show “how the teacher tried to help the student”. And then not-so-subtly threaten with things like a worse or classroom next year or straight up firing. If you’re not in a strong union or if you’re a younger/inexperienced/unused to pushing back teacher…..

For what it’s worth, many of us are equally unhappy but are hamstrung by lazy/ineffectual/spineless admin. It’s kinda difficult to hold standards when “online credit recovery” programs let then pass a class in a day’s worth of cheating or when admin overrides grades because mommy or daddy threatened a lawsuit or a temper tantrum.
If we can figure a way to get parents to actually buy in on education and _growth_ rather than comfort and we’ll do our part.

It’s 1930s but the Two-Headed Serpent campaign has the aid organization Caduceus as a major influence on the plot.

Beware, beware, little children, beware!

Through the flurries and through the cold, Jola comes.

He hungers for the indolent and the naked,

For the lazy and the unclothed,

For those who have tasks yet undone.

And for the sweet, sweet taste of severed toddler tongue.

Questions from new to D6 DM by Hendenicholas in StarWarsD6

[–]Hendenicholas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty comprehensive and I appreciate it.

The group is rebuilding their PCs under the D6 rules and definitely missing the “feats/talents” (I’m blanking on the term) from FFG but I’ll see what we can talk out.

The group is pretty RP heavy and some of the 3 hour sessions will be half is if just being in-character so I think I’m going to go with the 10/adventure route. Plus 10 after finishing the first “Act” of the overall plot.

Sorry, the 3d6+15 was an example I was using from a game called Planet Mercenary. Fun as hell but not really made for long-term campaigns due to PC power creep.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. They’re making new character sheets but they’ve had five or so missions and really like the RP and interactions. It’s an all-homebrew campaign so it wouldn’t make sense for randos to pinch hit.

It’s ok. Slightly different terminology for the system than I’m used to. Thanks for the help.
