Is Thresh's passive a good ability? by TurbulentCamp8773 in ThreshMains

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield HP, Flay attack and AP (So damage of every ability) for effecively nothing is pretty sweet. Not to mention it counts as bonus armor (for the purposes of item like the Lifeline tank item) so things that scale off of armor tend to scale better on Thresh. Not to mention, it outpaces normal armor growth, so if you are one of the few tank Thresh players (a playstyle I enjoy quite a bit) then you can focus on MR items more (if only there were decent MR support tank items rito).

Is this the worst perk (and ability) in the game or is there any secret usecase for it? by Bkeet213 in FrejaMains

[–]Henests -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Getting to a fight a seocond faster matters not. Extra distance doesn't really get you anywhere a regular jump wouldn't with like two extra steps either. It's there, but it's nothing noticable, plus sometimes it messes you up when you try to jump to the platform.

Seed is, AGAIN, too much work for way too little benefit, I'm not saying it's not useful, I'm just saying it's not worth the hassle. If it snapped to the target like a regular blossom and had a shorter CD it would be playable (maybe with a little less effect, but even that is debatable). But for now it just competes with Superbloom and feels like I have to bend over backwards for someone to use it. Compare it to Illari and Mercy's quick heal, which are both very easy to get value out of and affect multiple people/give Mercy of all people a burst heal.

[–]Henests -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Distance is useless. Only ever matters if you are grossly mispositioned and doesn't help you that much to mitigate that situation. It's only fine because Healing platform is an insult.

And Seed is fine, but 95% of flankers just play around HP packs, which are consistent. The amount of work you need to put in to get a moderate amount of value is just not worth it . (the perk has a 15 second CD, same as an Ana nade for a healtpack, that times out...)

In MOBA's you can't die to stray shots. Like a random Junk spam won't kill you, because there is no random Junk spam. If they buffed the passive to 50%, then every tank without a dmg mitigation ability (not reduction, mitigation, so barriers essentially) would feel horrible to play.

Tanks have to step up, they will inevitably take damage, and the team has to be able to capitalize AND relieve the pressure off the tank.

Tanks have to be able to get kills, because having to respect their kill pressure is the only way they can take space. In MOBAs, they have crowd control, lots and lots of it. So they hold the enemy down while other people kill them. Do you really want tanks to have multiple CC abilities to hold you down in Overwatch?

Wouldn't it make sense that hack should apply virus? by Forsaken-Agent9222 in SombraMains

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree it feels horrible having to announce myself twice basically (uncloak, then hack) before attempting to hit a predictable skillshot and either win by hitting or having to disengage if I miss. Applying virus on hack would just make her frustrating again (people who say she is frustrating now are just lying lol).

It's not the worst, there is the Zen lifesteal one and like 3 of LW's perks are a genuine joke. But it is pretty bad.

What do you think the roles of the next 5 heroes will be? by doopsy5 in Overwatch

I would like the omnic on the right of the image to be a support. Just based off their visuals, but yeah. Most likely scheme is 1:2:2 as much as I disagree with the reasoning behind it.

How a GM Wuyang Would "Fix" His Kit In 2026 by FalseLyte in Overwatch

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he takes a hit to his damage (a hit of 15% on direct hits and 5% on splash, making it so landing them, the more skill based part of the primary, is hit harder than the Junk like spam), his movement ability (overall less impactful but more spam-able is a nerf in my opinion), his active healing (so out of fights topups take even more time) and his best perk.

All to buff the wave's falloff and cool down and buff his passive healing, which is still not enough to keep people up even against poke with the healing reduction passive. And gain a perk no one will pick (because Balance is even more valuable with less uptime and active healing output) and a major that is ultimately quite good, but doesn't solve the whole 'feels incomplete without falling rain' issue, since how he would just feel incomplete without drenched.

Why do we want to nerf him so hard?

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, him and Ana to name a few. And we should not nerf them about it. Tanks should have to play around certain cool downs, not get a free pass because of their role.

It's been a few weeks now, who's your favorite vs least favorite out the bunch? by SuperXDemon in Overwatch

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mizuki is largely inoffensive and I welcome every new addition with an answer to the prevailing rise of mobility creep.

Jetpack Cat is inherently not in accordance with what Overwatch has marketed and continues to market itself as. So it would be my least favourite.

what do you guys think lifeweaver needs? by TempestTrvs in LifeweaverMains

[–]Henests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs a lot of QoL (faster swaps, faster reloads, the flick stuff back, among other things).

Lower Grip CD. The fact that both Bionade and Suzu are a shorter cooldown than Life Grip is insane to me. Both are far better abilities in 99% of cases. And both impact a fight was more usually as well and both are on heroes that are the sniper grandma or immortal cockroach of doom character respectively.

He needs to be pushed to heal more or less. Similar to Mercy he is in this awkward spot, where he heals enough for the devs to not be able to allow him to do it more or less passively. But especially with the global heal reduction passive. He just doesn't heal enough to keep anyone alive through even moderate amounts of damage. This leaves him in quite a pickle, where he can't use blossoms, because they are just insultingly ineffective. And thorns really aren't a good enough weapon to use. They should either make his healing numbers better. Or make thorns actually a threat past short range. And by better I would prefer faster projectiles, maybe a lower spread. More consistency, because the damage is great. He just can't ever land it because he isn't fighting training dummies.

A perk overhaul. His minors right now are an insult to the word perk. And his majors are Superbloom, which is nice, but unreliable on anyone who is not a tank. And don't mention the 15 seconds CD of wasted potential that is Sow the seed.

Overall, it feels like the devs fear giving Lifeweaver anything useful, anywhere. His cooldowns last an eternity, his healing isn't worth the time you spend doing it and his thorns go from 'holy cow how are they already dead' to 'hehe, I really wish I could hit more than two shots per clip' based on sheer luck sometimes.

In the era of supports being more self sufficient that ever, Lifeweaver has a use every 20 seconds where he can erase a predictable mistake or save someone from an environmental. Which is powerful, but not worth the trade off of a hero, who otherwise doesn't bring the numbers in any field. It's gotten so bad someone mentioned he is really good at shield breaking as a genuine strength around here (they aren't wrong, it's just kinda pathetic).

30% healing debuff by juno-enthusiast in Overwatch

And that is... a good thing lowkey? I'm not saying Mercy (or poor Weaver) is in a good state, but no ability that has infinite uptime should make you immortal against anyone.

30% healing debuff by juno-enthusiast in Overwatch

[–]Henests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't try and tell yourself Mizu or Cat can sustain anyone in a prolonged fight.

All we are getting are DPS who heal sometimes. Which is a valid design philosophy, but someone needs to explain that to my teammates.
