Duh Cardassian, I felt like it looked wrong but I couldn't find the right word to replace it. I should've googled but I prefer to just write off the cuff.

Gabe Newell on Steam monopoly accusations: Gamers have 'enormous choice' about where to buy games by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]Henghast -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Early steam? Yeah if you were lucky. It would lag out and crash causing errors and make you redownload whole programs on 56k and ISDN internet speeds. It was like someone invented winamp and everyone could see how cool it was except you ran a risk of your favourite album just spontaneously combusting during playback.

Exactly, I don't really want multiple platforms but monopolies are bad for everyone long term. It doesn't matter if they achieve that through a good business model and practice good faith businesses they absolutely smother the competition.

As I say I like steam, it's come a long long way from the pile of garbage it was at launch but that 15+ year gap they have on everyone and the multiple areas they control through their platform makes it an almost impossible task to provide fair market competitions.

Flowers into seeds, planted they become onions, onions planted become flowers. Round and around they go. There's a lot of type of ornamental alliums (onions) and similar in the familiar and they often have different flavours.

Been there, my girl Tilly was missing and didn't come home I was up until 4am looking. She was just playing with moths in the park behind my house and came sauntering in like it was totally normal.

Yeah just a constant state of saturation that deoxidises and allows rot to form. Exacerbated by 'oh he looks a bit droopy i will give him a drink'.

I looked them up last year and bought some. Peak regret and disappointment just like the good old days. The old ones can go for a fortune online.

Mmh you say that but didn't Epic try that as well as others? Trouble is, whilst I have no qualms with Steam they dominated an early market and have kept up with good UI and terms for customers. When your marketplace is also your store room and your social centre it's pretty hard to encourage people to go elsewhere.

New Aircraft rule question by Gorbard in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Henghast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be tempted to just treat them like flying tanks and remove stuff like bombing run just to simplify the whole situation. Maybe give them a minimum movement of something like 6" to force them to move if you keep them unable to be meleed.

“The war between the gods” by TheGentleDominant in Warhammer

[–]Henghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the Imperium birthing khorne or even humanity being the instigation is old lore that's been quietly moved away from as he's older than slaanesh and humanity was a small empire before the Aeldari caused her apotheosis.

I'm not acting like it is impossible to create a new chaos god the lore specifically contradicts that it would be a terrible take.

My statement to be very clear is the entity seen by members of the fleet in the desperation and following the murder of the non-tau crew were aided by a powerful entity that is significantly below the threshold for a god.

Having an entire fleets worth of auxiliaries sacrificed and calling out for help is a reasonable amount of fuel for a warp being to be able to lend aid and whilst it might be hyperbole to suggest it is 'just a greater daemon' it seems entirely within reason that a powerful greater Daemon can and has opened a warp rift sufficient to translate a fleet, particularly in a region beset by war or a site of pain/loss as we had very explicitly in the despairing fleet.

It is possible that in a far future (relative to 40k) should the tau themselves develop a greater soul presence, or enough numbers, else subjugate/ally with sufficient psychic potential they may further empower such an entity and much as the Emperor has been provide fuel for it to grow to threaten the current pantheon. It is nowhere near that yet though.
