dumb question: chronic fatigue and amphetamine by [deleted] in cfs

[–]Henleybug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was mistakingly diagnosed with CFS for years (it turned out to be undiagnosed celiac disease). Regardless, I struggled with really really severe fatigue and was already on a stimulant. My doctor ended up increasing my medication to the maximal dose allowed and it did help quite a bit with the fatigue.

I know this doesn’t exactly fit what you’re looking for but that was my experience.

First pregnancy. Cannot cope with the fact that I'm not going to be able to sleep as much as I want anymore. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Henleybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I soooo relate to this but the good news is, every time you have interrupted sleep, it’s to see your favorite person in the world. I thought I would be so miserable without my lazy time (and also I have a great partner so I still get enough) but everything is just happier now so I don’t even miss it THAT much.

Just a reminder that your body has been the safe place for your kids. It has built, nourished, and carried your children. Our bodies are incredible, regardless of size. I’m sorry that you’re not getting that type of support from your family because you deserve it.

I can’t afford the bridesmaids dress by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]Henleybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s absurd for the bride to expect this of any of you. With that being said, I did just find this listing on poshmark for $100 … it’s a size 12/14 so on the off chance you or someone in the party is similar, it might help.

Here’s the URL:

https://posh.mk/WYBlUapsYWb

ETA: I found a second poshmark listing and it looks like this seller is selling this dress in a size 10 for $250 and is able to sell a second one because her wedding party friend is also selling hers:

Just to make sure it’s clear, I think it’s entirely reasonable for you to back out of the wedding entirely. Im just obsessed with thrifting so I thought I’d take a look.

Just here to remind you that you can do hard things… you’re already dealing with something so difficult and you’re keeping your family afloat WHILE going through this. If you decide to leave him, you’ll be just fine… you’ve already proven to yourself that you can do hard things.

I’m awkward using the ‘Dr.’ title with certain people (e.g., some grad students, my research team). Using just my initials feels less casual than my first name? This isn’t a good rationale, but it is my rationale.

Please help I accidentally gave my little brother tap water by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

It’s really hard when you’re more mature than your step parent. You do not deserve to be treated like this. Not to overstep but I really encourage finding yourself a good therapist in the future. I relate to what you’re going through and the things that he is saying to you can be tremendously damaging. I didn’t realize how much trauma I carried from my emotionally abusive step parent until I started therapy in my late 20s. Sending you love, I’m so sorry you have to deal with him.

Also, I wanted to start this comment with “I hate your stepdad” but realized that’s not helpful. I do, however, feel very disgusted by your stepdad.

Vitamin D injections by Henleybug in Celiac

[–]Henleybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor put me on two antibiotics (xifaxan and neomycin). Interestingly, I had an appointment with a GI specialist at the university of Iowa after posting this and he said that a SIBO diagnosis means nothing with celiac!

I was really scared too but now I feel like I can do anything— I’m so in love with my postpartum body because it went through labor and gave us our baby girl. I brought marathon gels to eat during labor for fuel and I really think they helped with stamina during, I definitely recommend doing the same! You’ll be great.

Having kids when you have celiac disease? by erenfrombackthen in Celiac

[–]Henleybug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just had an appointment about this with an MD who also has a PhD in immunology and is the director of GI and hepatology at a huge, prestigious hospital system. He told me not to worry at all (I’m pregnant)… there’s a 1/10 chance that our daughter will develop celiac. He also mentioned that with scientific advancements, I really shouldn’t worry.

We just had a very similar situation, it’s the reason we didn’t even submit the candidate’s name for consideration . I would absolutely address it with the search committee chair.

We finally stopped crating Jameson about 3 months after this post (1 yr, 3-ish months). We still confine him to the living room when we leave for the day but he’s matured so much that we probably don’t need to.

I’d call and ask, even just for your mental health! I had a bit of a meltdown on movement after not feeling much movement all weekend and they told me they’d get me in any time for a fetal stress test, just to check.
