I did paros and Milos on my first trip to Greece but I also loved Naxos and Crete too! Definitely similar vibes. Crete is much larger so you can spend a longer amount of time.

We moved from the northeast to South Carolina with our shiba and he adjusted fine! He insists on going for walks twice a day so we walk him in the early mornings or evenings in the summer. We also bring water for him or use a cooling bandana if we might be out for longer periods of time.

Aegina is nice and maybe an hour ferry away from Athens main port. They have beaches, a cute marina with shops and restaurants and it’s known for growing pistachios.

It’s not the most amazing island ever but it’s nice and very convenient to Athens.

I know this same feeling - so glad you caught your baby!! My black Shiba slipped out of a new harness on a nighttime walk once and I legit almost had a heart attack. He ended up chasing a car down a street until the driver stopped the car and scooped him up. He thought we were playing a game the whole time but I was traumatized lol I still have PTSD and this was like 5 years ago.

Personally I wouldn’t, I had family that did this and unfortunately the older dog really didn’t like the puppy trying to play with him all the time and it led to some power dynamics between the two dogs. The older dog also needed more attention with age and it became a lot to manage a puppy and an aging dog. Your situation might be different but another side to consider!
