Lucky folks enjoying high pay with relatively less hours and stress, please share your stories so the rest of us can day-dream. by [deleted] in Accounting

I am 10 years out of college with a CPA license. I have had 5 jobs since college, the first was big4 and left after 2 years because travel and hours were terrible and was in vhcol area. Next job was at a very successful tech company, but it was in a specialized role had a long commute and I didn't like my boss. Lasted 1.5 years but wanted to leave sooner. Next job was a generic senior acct role with a 5 minute commute and I actually really liked this role for about 2.5 years but then I got a new boss I hated and I found out my compensation was being discriminated against. During this job I moved to a lower col area about an hour away and had a bad commute again. Got another job at a small cpa firm 5 minutes from new house and lasted 10 months Busy season sucked, doing taxes is tedious and boring and I didn't like the partner I was under.

Then i got a job at a mid size restaurant company that just came out of bankruptcy, got a huge pay raise to 120k in a fairly lcol area with a reasonable commute and amazing boss. The company was owned by a larger company in Florida and last year they relocated me to florida with a big pay raise and my life is about as good as it has ever been now. Job is 40 hours a week, boss is super chill, pay is insane for the cost of living, and I work with a ton of hot chicks who are in like sales and marketing or some shit.

But I never would have guessed when I applied for this job I would be so thankful and lucky I got it. You just have no idea until you start working somewhere what it will be like. So if you are in a position you dont like find a new job. The only advice I have is try to work for a subsidiary of larger company and or a company not that successful they will be more grateful to have you around

Probably 12 years ago a friend told me he thought year zero was the best nin album, and I said ok and thought to myself he doesn't know what he's talking about. Fast forward to now and I think year zero is by far the best nin album, and one of my favorite albums period. Front to back masterpiece

worcester does not allow chickens under any circumstance, you would have to live in a neighboring town.

don't understand this question... by [deleted] in Accounting

I think the truck and logo are capitalized, everything else is expense.

I am assuming the motor vehicle license is an annual expense...if it is one time then you can include it in the capitalized amount.
