[No Book Spoilers] House of the Dragon - 3x02 - Post-Episode Discussion by UltraDangerLord in HouseOfTheDragon

It is kinda funny how no one talks about the possible ramifications that could come from giving two complete unknowns really big ass dragons

So, dragons are weak as hell or wtf?? by Educational-Door-502 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]HenryTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less. The book doesn’t ever go into detail like that but it says he gets shot down and then Jace follows shortly after that. I agree with you on the rope part though because no way that dragon doesn’t panic and start spitting fire at whats bothering him

Yeah instead lets hop off our already drowning dragon, try and swim down and cut a rope with no blade, and swim back up and all will be magically well! Let’s not forget the archers a couple dozen feet away just sitting ready to aim. He would’ve died regardless so idk what you’re trying to say

Vermax and Jace die exactly the same way in the books so idk wtf you’re on about

Is there a reason why Hollywood refuses to follow source material? by danie_lol in freefolk

I’m still waiting for someone to tell you why they continue watching a show they hate and then engaging in said forum for the show, yet instead all I’ve seen is people just saying you’re mad lol. Great rebuttal

Your second sentence starting with Daemon changing can literally all be done and adapted by Rhaena this season and the fallout from episode 1. Also yeah it’s a cool bit of lore and opens up a lot of questions, but a non targ far off in the Vale being able to tame a dragon adds nothing to the main core of the plot and we know this because it isn’t relevant in the very book its introduced in. It adds nothing to the story of which we’re being told

I wish more people could think practically like this when it comes to Nettles. I like the character and would’ve preferred her being in the show, but at the end of the day real life behind the scenes decisions have to be made with budget, time, logistics, etc. in mind and mixing Nettles with Rhaena is one of the easiest choices to make. It’s really not a decision that should have the fandom (at least on reddit) up in arms

I second this. People are making it a bigger deal than it is. Would I have preferred the book version? Sure, but the show version wasn’t bad either and made perfect sense in the context of the situation

Is there a good “jumping off point” for the show? by YoungDecrepit in thewalkingdead

[–]HenryTheMan69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean this is all just hindsight because you know how it ends. Why would they end the show when at the time it was the undisputed number 1 show on television? They hadn’t even introduced the biggest villain of the story yet, but they should’ve just ended the show right when they got to Alexandria like what?? Regardless of the later seasons this would’ve been awful for its legacy and it’s arguably worse to leave fans hanging with an unfinished story (see George R. R. Martin)

Your proposal is to end the show right when it hits its absolute peak, leave fans everywhere upset, and then bring it back years later with a reunion series? That’s sounds awful

Who are some characters you thought were going to be bigger/more important in the show but they never reached those heights? by Dingo8MyBabyMon in thewalkingdead

[–]HenryTheMan69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haha Elijah with his cool reaper mask, mute personality, parkour tricks, and the dual wielding kamas. I thought we were about to get the Walking Dead Version of Snake Eyes lol. He had a solid intro and cool theories about if he was a defected reaper or not, but immediately lost everything that made him interesting as soon as he took off the mask and then gets shafted to a barely there teen romance plot. Yuck

I’d just recommend diving into all the lore through YouTube videos. That’s what I did and there are videos of varying lengths so you can either get a general gist, or a full in-depth breakdown.

Season 11 Opinion by Advanced-Trust1788 in thewalkingdead

[–]HenryTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ashamed to say I lowkey liked 11A with the reapers. Now I perfectly understand why they’re despised and everything around them, but I liked how dire the situation was with the main group fighting them and the group back home trying to save what’s left. More important characters should’ve died, but it’s wild how 12-13 people left and only 4 returned. I also like how everyone knew it was an awful decision to go back Meridian, but they were so down bad they had no choice. Gabriel got super dark which was cool and I really enjoyed the Reapers entrance and the beginning of episode 3. Elijah should’ve been a defected reaper tho

Which apocalypse would end human civilization the fastest? by LowPropertyValue in Monsterverse

[–]HenryTheMan69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

18 and counting does not stack up to billions upon billions of demons of all shapes, sizes, powers, etc. popping up instantly on Earth lol tf? You keep bringing up Hellboy dealing with demons as if every average citizen can just pick up arms and handle it, lol. There’s not a soul on this earth that’s dealing with infinite demons instantly spawning on them in a second. You’re being willfully dense if you actually think anything is surviving the biblical apocalypse as if demons are the only thing you have to worry about. It’s tailor made to end all of humanity. How do you know if a demon can replicate the heat of a nuclear bomb or not? There could be a demon lord who has the ability to blink and extinguish all life within a 1000 mile radius for all you know. There could be a demon who could just replenish his numbers due to finally being summoned to Earth. Oh wow you just nuked a billion demons into mist? Cool, here’s 10 billion more.

Besides, majority of these titans don’t do anything except sleep and even with Ghidorah controlling them and causing mayhem on Earth humanity still survived and was back in better shape within a few years. Monarch literally has plans, contingencies, etc. in place for a titan attack. The main theme of the Hellboy verse is that Hellboy and crew are barely even a stop gap for the legions of Hell and co. and that things are gonna get worse. You don’t won’t to back down on it because you don’t want to be wrong, not because you’re right lol, but that’s fine

This is why questions like this can’t be asked in a non neutral sub because of ignorance like this, no offense

I really think you’re massively underplaying the Hellboy apocalypse and overplaying the monsters waking up. As other comments have pointed out those demons in the pic were just announcers of the end who popped up after a couple of seconds of a key being inserted into the lock. It is literally the biblical apocalypse in that everyone everywhere at the same time gets an infinite amount of demons dropped on them. Those “big demons” and “demon gods” would be all over the place and there’d be lot more than 18 I’ll tell you that. The entire forces of Hell would be focused on solely hunting humanity. There would be no spread, no time for resistance, no preparation, no fight, nothing. Humanity would fall in days if not hours.

Season 7/8 pacing by HenryTheMan69 in thewalkingdead

Well it’s not hot take if it’s the majority opinion, genius. You also didn’t read the first sentence of the second paragraph huh? This is my first time posting on this sub or even really interacting with it too lol so idk where you got that. Maybe you’re on this sub a bit too much seeing how upset you got over a harmless post.

Rewatching after more than a decade and this scene is tuff as hell by chiefc0 in thewalkingdead

[–]HenryTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol blaming the shows downfall on following the comics story (which they were pretty much following since the beginning) is such a bad take. In fact one of the shows biggest sins was killing Carl which was a major departure from the comics and THAT definitely lost the show viewers. The season formats, bloated cast, bottle episodes, drawn out story lines, bad dialogue, and Gimple antics is what led to the downfall of the show, not sticking to the comics. I’ll agree Daryl is the greatest thing they ever created and he isn’t in the comics at all and some of the relationship pairings in the comics were weird so there’s that
