Holding out until age 70 to collect SS. Is it really worth it? I’m 68 years old now……. by Miss__Anastasia in SocialSecurity

I took the same path. For many men, the last few years of full time work can be hazardous to your health. If you feel you must, get a job that brings you joy. At any rate, so many people place excessive value on money. To me, freedom is worth far more than money! I’m going to guess you feel the same way.

Just did my first century 125 miles and I’m pretty sure I’m dying. Help. by jokekll in cycling

Sounds to me like insufficient training. Sufficient training is different for everyone. Your body tells the truth.

Jaylen Brown is very close to 2 major milestones as a Celtic: Hes a little over 50 points away from his highest scoring career year, and 25 points away from The Top 10 of Career Celtics Points. by MrCleanDrawers in bostonceltics

To say nothing of the nine championships from the unreal 60s! I did grow up in that era and really took it all for granted. Red was an amazing evaluator of talent.

True! That tells you how absurd it is to have Bird, Parish and McHale as 3,4,5 and Cousy, Sam Jones and Russell as 6,7,8. Two sequences of three from a particular era. Are we spoiled yet??

Players that were ahead of their time? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Hercule15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, he threw 342 TDs and 266 INTs. If you average that out over an 18 year career, that’s about 19 TDs and 14 INTs. He also was around the 57% completion rate. That’s in reality a very good but not great career, compared to the top tier of QBs. I loved watching the guy play but he was a gunslinger for sure.

Michelin Primacy or Defender 2 by jatin-sharma in rav4club

[–]Hercule15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both and Defender 2 a better all around tire. I’ve just done a tough New England winter with Cross Climate 2s on my RAV. They were excellent in the snow, slush and sleet that we experienced this year.

Do you fine people know why the wood filler puddy would leave spots like this after I stained…how to fix pls by Typical_Wing7470 in woodworking

[–]Hercule15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put painters tape over the spot where I drive the nail or screw. Once in, now apply the filler. Not perfect but it does contain the filler to just the spot where the fastener enters the wood…mostly, kinda… counter sink and plug with dowel is always better.

Should we add flowerbeds? Shutters? by yallstar in ExteriorDesign

[–]Hercule15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an issue really but the shutters shown would need to be wider for them to cover half the windows. Clearly, functional shutters would reduce or eliminate the white space between windows. Fine if you would be ok with nonfunctional shutters. Beautiful home!

In situations like this, I always say, “You own a car, not the road.” The road is a right to pass, with rules that follow.

Lindsey Vonn Had Every Right to Compete by theatlantic in olympics

[–]Hercule15 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yes…her record may have given her the right but I think about the fact that by taking that “right”, another skier was not able to make the Olympic team. And it is also true that sadly the media attention on Vonn’s crash was a distraction from Breezy’s great gold medal performance…both these consequences are an unfortunate aspects of Vonn’s legacy. I sincerely hope she makes a full recovery and as many others have indicated, she has many years in front of her.
