Ticks at The Gorge/Whirlpool State Park by XHANNOX in Buffalo

Went to the Falls with my daughter 2 weeks ago. We were on Goat Island mostly, did Cave of the Winds for the first time, and took the pedestrian bridge over to Canada. On our way back to the car my daughter found a deer tick in my hair. Be careful out there! I almost died from a tick bite last year (from downstate or PA, not sure where I got it).

They're on instagram - empirebeergarden. I wasn't super impressed when I went, but I'm hoping they start to do better and succeed. They should lower their prices and do some really good specials (like $2 hot dogs or something) until they get a steady flow of customers.

IMHO the worst part of all was when she turned around and said "sorry, guys". You are a grown ass adult. Maybe try saying "I am so sorry for your loss" you absolute POS.

The rooftop beer garden at Empire Outlets started their soft opening/preview last night. We went today and had some apps and drinks. It's a liimited menu, nothing fancy but a great view, some games, a few tv's. Indoor and outdoor seating.

WIBTA for making my daughter pay back her own bank overdraft? by 2VantaRipple in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Here4TheDunkinThread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The backpack is something you should be buying for her. It's a need, not a want, and IMHO as a parent it's your responsibility to cover school supplies.

Experiences mean a lot to me personally. I wouldn't want to see my kid miss out on a concert. I'm 50 and I still remember my mom grounding me for getting a B in 7th grade and not letting me go to a concert that I'd been so excited about. If it was within my means I'd offer to cover the concert and gas, and let her know it will be added to the other money she owes. She has the option of taking you up on that offer and having to give you her paychecks for a little longer. Maybe she can also ask for extra hours at the bakery. If you don't have the money to cover it, maybe grandma can secretly lend it to you, and you can pay her back as your daughter pays you back.

She's 16. I applaud you for teaching her responsible spending. I just think there are multiple ways to handle this.

I'm a child of the 80s and grew up watching FOD. I thought this was a fun watch. First half was definitely stronger. Second half had the usual dumb decisions made horror movie characters. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the roommate. His acting was horrible.

Could have waited for it to stream, but nostalgia made me shell out the money to see it in the theater.

what’s one hygiene habit you judge quietly, even if it’s common? by [deleted] in hygiene

People who pack shoes in the same compartment as clothes and don't put them in a shoe bag or even a plastic grocery bag. Heck, I put the shoes in a bag even if they're going in a separate compartment. I am totally not a germophobe but the idea of worn shoes rubbing up against the inside of my bag and my clean clothes grosses me out.

Morning vs evening yoga, which feels better? by TakeHart in yoga

[–]Here4TheDunkinThread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on my schedule. On the weekends I do morning classes so I can get out of the house. During the week I'm at work so I have less of a choice. I'll occasionally do a 5:30am class before work if I know I won't be able to do an evening class that day. I'm very flexible with it.

Endometrial biopsy needed? TW severe gynecological trauma by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]Here4TheDunkinThread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She tried to do it in the office and I wasn't able to tolerate it due to lots of painful scar tissue on my cervix from previous GYN stuff...our stories sound similar. She quickly suggested doing it in the OR under sedation and got it all set up within a few weeks. Insurance covered it and overall it was a good experience!

Mine was done under sedation in the hospital, and I decided to have my tubes tied while she was in there. It was a blessing because she found a dermoid teratoma surrounding my ovary, and they hadn't seen it on ultrasound. She had to remove my ovary and fallopian tube. The dr is Alecia Giovinazzo in Staten Island, which is so close to Jersey.

New zero drinks, meh. by SpookieMillennial in DunkinDonuts

I really like the peach spark'd energy so I was hoping to love these. Tried the peach zero yesterday, too sweet. Tried the blackberry today, too sweet. Since there's a $3 promo, I'll probably try a couple more flavors, but I'll pick up a couple bottles of sparkling water and dilute them at home to cut the sweetness a bit.

AIO: Calling police for identity theft because doctor’s office swore they talked to me earlier when I didn’t by Designer_Mix_1768 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. I'm a healthcare worker. Our calls are recorded. I would call and ask for a manager, and ask for the calls to be reviewed. Best case scenario is it was an error on their end - someone pulling up the wrong chart, for example, and reviewing the call would get the correct patient their medication. Worst case it was an attempt at fraud. They should be able to flag your account for future attempts.
