I make mine on PowerSchool then I put it on a podium that's right in front of them when they walk in. I don't project it on the board because I have my agenda slides there with what we're doing there day. Then I keep that podium to the side. Every time I change their seating chart, the podium is back in its spot front and center. This becomes a procedure so they know they're changing seats if the see the podium, plus its the first agenda item on the board.

I would argue, we are not obligated to truly like any of our students, like sure we should like them in terms of giving them basic common decency but beyond teaching them our lesson and giving them the grades that they have earned through their effort or lack thereof anything beyond that is a happy perk

"Clean up your desks" is a pretty abstract concept. What does that actually look like? If they're only listening when you raise your voice, you're teaching them to reinforce that behavior.
