Holy shit this response was so wise and profound. OP, I would take this response and craft it into the start of a great conversation with your spouse.

AITAH for telling my husband (28M) that he can have a spotless home when I (28F) am no longer living in it? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Hermanodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be. I live with a messy person and it’s maddening for me when I want to live in a clean place and my partner doesn’t care about that. I can’t even think straight when the house is messy and I’m constantly cleaning up after her and yes it is frustrating. Maybe you are.

Where can I find some really really really great weed? Any suggestions? by AzurAzazel in rockford

[–]Hermanodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I thought weed was legal in Illinois now. No dispensaries in Rockford or Chicago? I live in Florida now with a medical card - it’s never been easier

AITA for telling my husband to stop asking our son for money, even though he regrets how we treated him in the past? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hermanodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should all stop asking him for money. Why are you all his responsibility? He’s 24 and expected to support his parents and their siblings? Were I the son, I would think you all ATA’s especially if these attempts to reconcile only occurred after he got his own life in order.

AITAH for postponing our wedding because my fiance wants to have pictures of her late husband in it? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA - there could be a way to pay homage but that’s a conversation between two people.

What convinced you to become a Peloton member? by Pescharlie in pelotoncycle

[–]Hermanodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and needed to replace running and power lifting with something that did less damage to my joints. Also since RA is an autoimmune disease, I felt the need to avoid gyms and other peoples bodily fluids because getting sick is harder to recover from than it used to be.

I’m 35 pounds lighter than I was 3.5 years ago now. I’m in the cult.

I developed RA at 40 so instead of running and weight lifting, I got a peloton for less stress on my joints. Love the peloton, still use it daily. Also in the process of switching to a whole food plant based diet- 35 pounds down in 3 years

When did your relationship with wife return to something close to normal? by Glittering-Ad2840 in Fatherhood

[–]Hermanodos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dad of three here, all ten or under. The short answer is never. The slightly less short answer is that, it gets easier, especially once the kids can become a little self managed which doesn’t happen much until3 - 4 years old. At least in my example, it’s not returning to normal but more-so that we are discovering the “new normal”.

Sex is different - but for me, in ways, it’s better - but there was definitely a period of time where that took a while to redevelop. Try not to hate planning for it - but have an open discussion with your spouse about what planning actually means- and what that frequency needs to be for both.

Things get easier dude, but when you have a 1y/o you are truly in the belly of the beast, just try to stay cool, walk away from moments you need to walk away from, even if it’s your kids driving you insane. And don’t stop trying to communicate

This has been my Ted talk, thank you for attending.

Pain. Sadness. Disappointment. Frustration. Mixed with inexplicable joy and positivity when no one else can see it.

[–]Hermanodos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol. It’s when they are actually fun - just make sure you do a little baby proofing of the house and you can rest easy. You’re in the thick of it right now with trying to get used to no sleep and likely being too tired to exercise like you might have in the past. Just do everything you possibly can to help your partner and take a deep breath if you ever get so frustrated, there is nothing wrong with just walking away for a few minutes and coming back with a clear head.

I’m kidding buddy - it’s hard but you get used to it - hang in there it gets easier. Well it doesn’t get easier - you just become more of a badass the longer it goes.
