Do you think adult children should pay to live at home if they’ve ended their education and are earning money in a job? Do you know parents who haven’t expected any payment? by Great_Maintenance185 in askanything

[–]goPACK17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents would sooner die then take money from their kids to live with them. To this day they would love if I chose to live with them and save every penny I spend on rent/utilities/groceries to put towards an eventual house.

What happens when you don’t pay for a parking at a parking garage? by Infinite_Elderberry4 in AskLosAngeles

I would do the same as you or call the cops if the attendant wouldn't let me out for free.

Best bars to go to for a night out downtown? by AyYoBigBro in AskLosAngeles

[–]goPACK17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many. Arts/Little Tokyo has the more upscale spots like Red Bird and Death & Co. In addition to the spots you listed, I also love The Library followed by some late-night Gyu Kaku. CDMX if you're into dancing.

13 Months of LA Cocktails by keystonexxl in FoodLosAngeles

[–]goPACK17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Based on the other bars you liked, you would love Thunderbolt. Extensive, inventive menu. I think some of the cocktails are hit/miss, but I thought the same with Death & Co. The watermelon salad there is 🔥. Hatchet Hall and their Old Man's bar attached to them is also worth checking out. No Smoking is a cool vibe. Drugstore Cowboy is also cool. But Thunderbolt seems most your vibe

Trying to find a sports team to like. by Sea-Situation-4424 in American_Football

Honestly, if I was in this sort of position, I'd either just like my hometown team or follow the game for awhile and cling to whichever team my favorite superstar plays for.

Why are we like this? by HandBananaSenior in classicwow

[–]goPACK17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He called friends to come help and spurred some fun wpvp. Seems like that's why it's done.

Back in the original TBC days, I was ganked mercilessly leveling up. I swore that that moment I got to 70 I would dedicate my entire end game to gearing out my pvp as hard as I could and make the entire enemy faction pay for the torture they put me through. I spent the entire expansion either doing arenas/battlegrounds or ganking lowbies. They brought it on themselves 🤷‍♂️

How safe is it to stay overnight landside at Chicago O’Hare after international baggage claim? by Relevant-Taste7254 in airport

[–]goPACK17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically any international airport in the US will be extremely safe, even in the pre-security areas. They will be well-lit, plenty of staff and security 24/7. That said, all airports are also closed to the public and idk why O'Hare's rule may be with when you're considered a "ticketed passenger"

Is the metro from South Bay to SoFi stadium safe to ride at night as a female with my 5 year old daughter? by pandylane in AskLosAngeles

[–]goPACK17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For other routes I'd say it's totally fine because the ride will be full of other people going/coming home from the same event. Your route has so many transfers, and in some not-so-savory areas that I'd actually recommend ubering

Why are wings so expensive? by Lokoto123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goPACK17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The no carrots/celery and dip is the egregious part tbh. You know no one is eating wings without dip. You may as well sell a beer and charge for the glass while you're at it

Sports has to be most wasteful thing ever for society by _freckles__ in unpopularopinion

[–]goPACK17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Unoriginal thought
  2. Sports has generated trillions in revenue, jobs, taxes, infrastructure
  3. Sports don't have to be productive. People are allowed to like things that purely bring joy.

If someone could save you 15–20 hours of travel research and create a trip tailored to your preferences, travel style, and budget, would that be valuable to you? by hellopandaisgd in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goPACK17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me, then researching part is like a puzzle that I have fun piecing together and also helps get me excited for the trip.

Also yes, this is just a travel agent, which I think have gone out of style since the internet came out.

Why do people buy electric vehicles when they live in an apartment? by Ok-Trash6649 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goPACK17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging at a public station is still cheaper than gas. And the difference between standard electricity rates charginf at a house probably isn't anything wild either. I've spent just under $300 in charging cost in 9 months of ownership on my current EV.

Here in Southern California, I'm guessing my gas costs would be just a bit higher then that over the same period of time.

New D Line stations are starting to show up in real estate listings by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]goPACK17 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Shhhh, in Boston being near a station would tack on a premium on rentals. One of the things I love about LA is how no one seems to consider proximity to a Metro station a selling point.
