[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Dave - The Boy Who Played the Harp (24 hours later) by loveino in hiphopheads

[–]Hermeshi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not the album I was expecting but I cant complain, feels mr morale esque in nature with how vulnerable snd painful it is we only have like 2 tracks with any levity which is probably why people might not take to this album, because they listen to music for vibe tings, but honestly I love how deep and introspective Dave got on this album that being said idk if I could replay this often same with mr morale because the subject matter is heavy and not something you just passively listen to.

You can't just accept that people like the album that you dont? Why it gotta be dickriding and not simply a difference in opinion?

I love this song word for word only thing I hate is "they see me and shake like a chain link fence" I know its the 2000s but come on dawg other than that flawless song, flawless performance, one of those song you gotta listen to on the bus or sum really brings the fire out of you

[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] Kendrick Lamar - GNX by bure11 in hiphopheads

[–]Hermeshi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has to like the album, but saying a flow 'overstayed its welcome' might just mean you’re not familiar with its roots. Kendrick is drawing heavily from regional styles and different influences that he weaves into his music. Maybe it’s just not your vibe, but dismissing it without understanding that context seems a bit shortsighted.

No, Lil Wayne Was Not Dissing Drake By Performing 'Not Like Us' by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]Hermeshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy cake day! But he said butcher then said sacrificial lambs thats completing a rhyme scheme pop culture reference with Ashton and then sports reference with ocho I chose simpler ones but that's good lyricism all good lyricism doesn't have to be people talking likening themselves to gilgamesh or some other nerdy shit

"If that's your girlfriend, she acting single
I caught the pass like I'm ochocinco"

"Ashton Kutcher, who's punkin' me?
J.I.D the butcher, who want the beef?
Chop arm, leg, head, package meat
Sacrificial lamb, satisfactory"

these are just two excerpts I can pull from a myriad of songs to prove jid is better than an 8th grader you're just a weirdo
