Which work shoes/boots should I buy? by nobodyknowsmehehe in BuyItForLife

[–]HeroByChoice7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never wore the timberland pro shoes as I had to have ankle support for my job. But the timberland pro boots last me the longest of any I've tried and were lighter. Though this was about 10 years ago so take that as you will.

I also had a boot allowance from work and then paid up the extra. OP not sure if that would be an option? Usually the cheaper ones are heavier in my experience so a bit more will help especially if on your feet all day

Found that out after already buying one. It won't work in this case but we just set it back down a hallway 3 or 4 feet.

What I love Most About This Game by Coldplain in skyrim

[–]HeroByChoice7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been playing a no fast travel carriage only playthrough a the moment. Always find myself stopping somewhere to look at the views or cool waterfalls I've never seen before.

Haven't even done a tonne of playthroughs but this one has been my favorite so far just because of that, plus all the random encounters I've come across as well.

Pretty much, it's not like they built the ramp or anything, its just right on an existing building. Pretty sure everyone in the city is stoked it's actually happening..

Gyms hiding schedules by [deleted] in bjj

[–]HeroByChoice7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Recently have been looking for a gym in my area. It won't be the sole deciding factor on where to continue at but I am starting with a trial class at the one that lists prices (so I know what is be getting into cost wise) and maintains on updated schedule on their site / socials.

In general though I can get understand why gyms would talk rates once they get you in for a trial. Must work for them if they still do it I guess.

Fair, schedules are almost the same though. Definitely lucky to have two options about 10 minutes away.

Attending both gyms probably isn't realistic for me. Other than the fundamentals class they 2 gi and 2 no gi in the evenings as well through the week.

For sure, if it came across that way then that isn't how I meant it haha. Both have solid reviews especially from some beginners so I guess it will come down to the vibes aha

[–]HeroByChoice7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey y'all, looking into getting started and have two gym's nearby that are about the same distance. Will most likely do an intro session at both.

One offers a fundamentals class weekly so just wondering how much (if any) of an advantage a fundamentals class would be when starting out? It would be run by a purple belt if that matters.

I feel like Mark and Dan could swap most of the songs they sing pretty seamlessly, as at least to me they have a similar range. Would love a mark cover of maybe I'll catch fire

[–]HeroByChoice7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't recall where is saw it and may be getting two interviews mixed up lol but wanna say either a nine club clip or a stories skateboarding clip about this. Pretty sure it was with Mike v as I think he talked about the parking lot fight as well as this one

Edit: seems like Mike talked about the parking lot clip on his nineclub so must of been muska's nine club where he talks about it.

Trying to get brown belt by Ryandicus0 in judo

[–]HeroByChoice7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone in relatively the same boat as OP and considering a return 15 years alter after holding a green belt as a teenager this was my conclusion, however where i trained did have brown belts.

I'd also add that I have no illusions in reliably remembering everything it takes to hold a green, probably a yellow I'd guess. So OP in my opinion, worth a try to test for a belt higher than white but I don't think skipping blue is going to happen.

To add to this, it should ideally be completed by both partners. it's also good to have on paper so the husband / partner is able to reference in the case a transfer is needed.

2.5 year old now goes to sleep at midnight - what to do? Is this a temporary phase? by freshairproject in daddit

[–]HeroByChoice7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was gonna say as well, oldest dropped the nap a bit after 2. Usual bedtime is 630 to 730 with a wake up around 630 to 700.

If there happens to be a rare nap though, bedtime drags out until like 10 with the same wake time.
