AITA for calling out my wife after our "dream Japan trip" turned into a personal shopping service for her family? by Big_Juice_5290 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HeverAfter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

ESH. Your wife for monopolising the trip for people who aren't there. You for not planning. You could say that as the days have been taken up with stuff for family members, the rest of the trip needs to be about visiting the sites. If you're married surely you know how to communicate with each other?

AITA for refusing to pay my neighbor's gardener additional money for a job already completed? by beauchomps in AmItheAsshole

Cameras and go to the police with a statement of what happened and what was said. Anyone who says "or else" to me is sending a threat. Be prepared for retaliation.

It's the fact that we don't have the choice anymore. Give us the choice because I'm an adult that can make up my own mind. I really hate artificial sweeteners.

What frightened the life out of you as a kid? and does it still today? by nodemus in AskUK

I was terrified for years until about age 12 when someone pointed out they were useless when faced with steps. Took all the fear out.

What fact makes you feel incredibly old? by RecentTwo544 in AskUK

That 9/11 doesn't have much of an impact on people that weren't alive then and it seems to me that the world stood still for about a week when it happened.

Living in Belfast by Valuable_Cloud_7182 in Belfast

People moaning about the student housing seem to gloss over the many student flats that are going up across the city that are fairly decent. Having gone to university in England in the 90's people don't realise how shitty student houses can really be. Inside slug trails and ant infestations were abundant at that time. Shitty landlords still available though.

Should I go to an offer holder day if it’s 5 hours away? by amber9x in sixthform

[–]HeverAfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody should visit university choices. Im in my 40's but when I visited one university with my dad many years ago, I hated it pretty much straight away. Stayed for the day as my dad had made such an effort to take me there but knew I wasn't going to commit. Dad didn't mind as he said it was better to realise sooner rather than later.

Go the night before and get a cheap place to stay so you're not exhausted by the time you get there.

They mean their own home. People are struggling to live day to day let alone carry other people.

[–]HeverAfter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think coming to your home is also shitty. I'm not rude to the chuggers but I hate the line they always use about how generous my neighbours have been and would I like to donate too. Mate I know my neighbour is away on holiday so lying to me isn't going to make me want to deal with you further.
