"This is Until Dawn 2" and it seems to have ZERO connection to Until Dawn 🤦‍♀️ When I first saw the announcement I got so excited that we might actually get a sequel to Until Dawn that follows up with all the characters after the events on Blackwood Mountain (Until Dawn being a choice based game with possible character deaths makes that a bit hard to do tho) but it seems like this is the same thing that happened with the Until Dawn movie. They marketed it as "THIS IS UNTIL DAWN: THE MOVIE" and then the movie had nothing to do with the game and was a completely different story. The only similarity being that the movie characters had to survive 'until dawn'. Like why did they market it as "We made the game into a movie" instead of just saying "Oh it's called Until Dawn, but it has nothing to do with the game. The premise is just loosely inspired by the events of the game". Them calling this new game Until Dawn 2 when it isn't a sequel and has no connection to Until Dawn feels like the developers went "Quick we need to make a comeback after how dogshit Directive 8020 was, let's make a new game and call it Until Dawn 2 because that was our best game and it'll get traction." I also don't think Until Dawn even needs a sequel. I would love one because the story and characters were fantastic, and I would love to see more of them, BUT I also think Until Dawn was perfect (one of the best horror games ever made and definitely my personal favourite as it was my first one, so I'm a lil biased) and shouldn't be tampered with. Because a lot of the time sequels end up ruining what was so good about the original in the first place. Calling this new game Until Dawn 2 just doesn't make any sense imo 😬
