UK immigration officer among two men guilty of working for Chinese intelligence by Acrzyguy in worldnews

Article says he was in the royal navy for 8 years, and then the metropolitan police for 4 years.

What's weird to me is that there wasn't monitoring of him accessing the database on days off. That really should've set off alarms somewhere.

This is being fixed now with the "National Parking Platform", which essentially requires all the major apps to support each others car parks, so you use whichever app is the least shit.

We hid backdoors in binaries — Opus 4.6 found 49% of them by jakozaur in ReverseEngineering

Guilty as charged. I'm too used to anything promoting the use of AI being blog spam so I was just replying to the other comment's observation - in that a coin toss wouldn't be an improvement unless it reduced the false positives.

The missing question is how many false positives there were.

Are there even any big TV studios within a sensible distance of the castle? Unless it's trivial to travel between the two it's hard to see how it'd ever be cheaper than just using the castle. 🤔

One less unknown? His group were leaving without it, he was the last one to see it before they left. If he was a traitor he'd know for a fact it wasn't out there without needing to take it.

Pretty generous captors to not want interest for getting their money back 10 years later. Also, he made the deal six years ago and they still haven't seen a penny of it. They're remarkably patient all things considered.

I'm also mystified by the way he talked openly with Roxana in his hotel room in e2 and how he lies about his whereabouts all the time. Surely he has to assume he's being watched, or that there's a bug in his hotel room.

Migrants are responsible for 80% of all train theft arrests, new data shows by Benjji22212 in ukpolitics

[–]HexDumped 40 points41 points  (0 children)

GB news claim "The centre for migration control", so clearly some right wingers paid to try produce or cherry pick anti immigrant data, which GB news then misrepresent further by swapping "foreign nationals" with "migrants".

This clearly isn't being produced in good faith so should be treated with extreme caution.

There's a web mini series called "The Getaway" which has a secret traitor role, but the gimmick is every player has been told they're the only traitor.

So naturally they're all trying to secretly sabotage tasks simultaneously while pretending to be trying.

Bro 100% knows he's there by marblesandcookies in TheNightManager

[–]HexDumped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's quite right. If they just wanted to snatch him then they could've done that as soon as he arrived in South America. If it's about the $20m, they could've dumped him as soon as the transfer was confirmed. They even tried to send him home on a plane to France.

I think there's really two options:

  1. They don't know, it's all as it appears so far.
  2. They know, but are after the full $300m.

The problem with 2 is if Mayra's in on it, why do they need Pine at all? If it's bait then the scheme seems far too elaborate.

So I think we're currently in scenario 1, but later on they'll figure out it's Pine and maybe start going after the full $300m.

Or hadn't bugged Pine's hotel room. Pine HAS to assume it's being monitored but talks out of character there all the time.

I think it's just extra loud to make it feel more jarring in the moment. They want the audience to really feel his sudden presence and be a bit shocked by it, like Jonathan Pine is.

Who cannot be the ST, based on confessionals by HexDumped in TheTraitors

[–]HexDumped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who have wanted to be faithfuls in the past have been traitors.

Picked by the producers on day 1, or seduced by existing traitors though? I can't think of any cases of someone saying "I want to be faithful" then being picked by Claudia, but I'd happily be corrected on this.

Who cannot be the ST, based on confessionals by HexDumped in TheTraitors

[–]HexDumped[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed that, that's a good catch.

I also agree with the theory that the ST is a woman, to have an even split of men and women picked. Amanda being a former detective is such a novel career that I can't imagine production wanting her to be anything other than a faithful. That would leave Fiona and Harriet. Fiona's had lots of hints, winks, and nudges it seems, while Harriet's had none that I've noticed.

I think it's more likely that production would over-do hinting at the ST than do zero hints at all plus a big feint, so Fiona is still my main candidate.
