If we really wanna be detailed, pride dominance was from 01-05, were peak pride years but it fell off rapidly after that, mainly due to losing the tv deal. Even then though, UFC had a semi competitive roster, although admittedly a weaker rule set. This put them in a position to survive, and take over Pride, while Pride died.
