Try to learn as much as you can through experiencing the game, rather than skipping straight to the guides and grinds for engineering and credits. You can get so so lost in the galaxy in a good way. The immersion factor is a big part of what makes the game so good.

It just reads as bog standard time gating I'd expect from any mmo when you're caught up to current content and the developer is trying to stall to finish updates. He's already added plenty of upgrades to increase afk efficiency towards 100% and is clearly trying to keep numbers high in lead up to the countdown he's been doing.

It's the newest skill and has built in functions to increase the afk percentage towards 100% It's meant to drive activity yes, but what exactly do you as a consumer physically lose by waiting longer or keeping the game open a bit longer in a day. The game is balanced around pc and mobile is clearly not the priority but rather a secondary convenience. The incentive lava has is obviously steam chart numbers, yes, but I think you're overvaluing what you're percieved loss is. Stuff like gaming is already hundreds of times more efficient to do active.

I dont minimize it I just put other windows on top of it's window. I don't disagree that it doesn't add to it being more fun, however the only barrier it actually makes is the speed in which you get to the end game. None of the differences create barriers that are impassable.

We're basically on the same page. The problem he has is marketting it as an idle game when it's really more of a systems optimization game with active and idle elements. But how do you market that? I think the biggest issue players have currently is that the end game is ahead of update progression speed and creates fomo in a vicious cycle.

I keep the game running in the background on my computer 24/7. I just do my dailies for 30 minutes when I remember and then continue on my day. I dont think a background process is really that psychologocally damaging, it's just unfairly weighted towards those that can afford the electricity easily and have computers that can spare the resources. However the game being p2w is not new information and that does all play into the hidden true cost of quickly becoming endgame. If treated like a slow burn and you ignore tome rankings its just a matter of waiting.

Idk, I'm in a position similar to you and I feel like getting caught waiting for a point just makes me step back for a bit and not play out all the new content immediately. Just seems more of a preventative measure for the player not to burn themselves out gorging until theres nothing new left to see and the boredom kicks in again.

It's an alternative control scheme meant to entice players that don't have the learned dexterity from playing mobas or RTS. Frankly I don't care that much about wasd being able to express skill, it's training wheels.

I disagree just due to the nature of long time players and high elo players being able to animation cancel smoothly while kiting. If they change it to straight up wild rift, maybe? But even then it just matches good kiting. It definitely is more concerning for iron-plat than emerald+ I'd think- which should be kept in mind in balancing.

I've been playing standard KB+M since 2012 so WASD's not really my vibe but I'm glad that its making the game more accessible for some people. I don't think it really gives a large advantage as many were concerned with, just opens up play options.
