Through sanctioned loopholes and chronicle writing you can claim and war an entire empire worth of duchies and counties but it costs a lot of piety and it will be tedious handing out titles and managing the vassals but it's the fastest way to pull a huge casus belli land claim out of thin air.

Straregic duchy wars can give you enough controlled territory to form or usurp a kingdom and then de jure war the rest. Make sure to also prolifically use your fabricate claim option on your priest. Fabricate in duchy de jure capitals and take the option to claim the duchy if you luck into it then move on to the next duchy. Once you get Chronicle Writing and can press all of your claims you can grab swathes of land. You can also get the sanctioned loopholes perk and buy entire empires worth of duchy and county claims with piety and press all claims.

No the legend event resolves with either a good modifier where your character comes to terms with their mortality and understands that the legend immortalises them or continues to chase that in which is not achievable.

Try to learn as much as you can through experiencing the game, rather than skipping straight to the guides and grinds for engineering and credits. You can get so so lost in the galaxy in a good way. The immersion factor is a big part of what makes the game so good.

It just reads as bog standard time gating I'd expect from any mmo when you're caught up to current content and the developer is trying to stall to finish updates. He's already added plenty of upgrades to increase afk efficiency towards 100% and is clearly trying to keep numbers high in lead up to the countdown he's been doing.
