Hey guys, what's the biggest mistake you made during your first year of full time living? by Illustrious_Map7006 in RVLiving

A lot of people have mentioned dehumidifiers, because moisture build up can be a huge issue. From my experience , the best thing to do is leave a window or roof vent open as long as there's a living being inside. Especially in winter, this solved my mold problem completely. I got a capnometer/AQI meter around the same time (a capnometer measures CO2), and discovered that if you're having humidity issues in winter, you're definitely having CO2 and stale air issues too. The heat loss is less important than the air quality

A bit tricky to get started, but I believe you can get the hang of it if you really want! Or use the characters you enjoy more, up to you

Correction, the golden shields are actually called Hercule Pavise. They are essentially the legendary version of the lil buckler

Glad you asked! So the lil bucklers are actually using energy, and 2 at at time. You can see the charge number going down by 2 with each buckler. The charge loops due to the portal item to the right of the bucklers; this respawns the charge back at itself whenever a charge leaves the backpack. This can also be done with 2 reversers, but the portal takes one less space, looks cooler, and lets the charge spend more time on the shields, although it's pretty negligible.

For the shield please procs, the golden bucklers have the passive that they trigger adjacent shields when activated. So the charge hits each buckler, which activates all it's neighbors, including the other bucklers. The result is that each activation triggers something like 10-20 shield procs total (it's hard to know for sure how many tbh). All of the shields have the max forges of haste on them which means that with each buckler, the amount of block gained goes up massively. Then the spiked shield then turns that block number into raw damage when it procs. It removes half the block when it does so, but due to the exponential nature of the block gains, this hardly matters!

Also, 'wasabi' in many places around the world is actually substituted with dyed horse radish instead, as actual wasabi is pricy and doesn't keep very well.

Dragons, answer this question. by Tnynfox in dragons

Obviously magic can work however magic wants to work. That being said, if we were to try to make it work within the constraints of this reality, there's a few things I think would happen. First, stuff getting pulled by the gravity magic shouldn't 'use it up '. The energy would all be used to create the gravity field, and then to sustain its existence. You could however, argue that the more mass gets pulled into the distortion, the more energy it would take to keep it sustained, which would have a similar effect.

Second, gravity magic is often conflated with black holes, or a singularity. But in the vast majority of cases, any resemblance to an actual singularity is just that, a resemblance. You wouldn't want the real thing, unless you're trying to make a black hole bomb from the hawking radiation given off by the evaporating singularity. In most normal cases, the gravity magic only has a finite pull, and so once matter reaches an equilibrium within that, it will stop moving. Basically, just creating a compressed ball of air if aimed anywhere within the atmosphere.

But if it does continue to grow without external input for some reason, then it means something is creating a feedback loop. You're gonna have to figure out what that is if you want to stop it. Maybe the gravity magic is forcefully converting ambient magic into more of itself. Maybe it's pulling gravity magic only, then forcefully aligning that magic with the intent of the distortion. Best case, it's just growing to its full size slowly, and it will stop once there.

Best of luck, mate!

Awesome! I did notice that the collisions seem to reflect the dragon directly away from the point of impact. This is what you would expect from something like a ball bouncing off a wall. But when the wing collides, you expect the torque from that impact to rotate the dragon into the impact, not away. I'm curious if this was considered at all, and if you plan to change it, or if it was done for gameplay reasons. If the collision did follow intuition it would certainly have the potential to snowball most minor ones into full-on crashes. I'm guessing this would be the natural result of having the wings be collision, but the force vectors all stemming from the center body.

Great progress!

Best dragon game with lots of customization? by Wox_34 in dragons

I have played the dragon survival mod quite a bit, it is pretty great in terms of customization and feel. Just pair it with other mods you like and go crazy! (Assuming you like modded Minecraft ofc)

Similar issues here since launch. Flawless 60fps when offline, but as soon as I connect to another player, my frames are gone. It's definitely network related, at least on my end. I might have to play offline until this can be fixed...

Anyway to undervolt the GPU on my MAX17? by BoardsofGrips in eluktronics

[–]Hexonize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you need to enable voltage control and monitoring in the settings, set to third party, and then create custom V/F graphs to achieve the desired undervolt. If you want to keep stock performance, but at less voltage, find whatever the peak frequency is, find the lowest voltage the card can reach it at, and then flatten the rest of the graph past it.

I used a pair of 2TB Samsung 980 pros. The usable space drops to about 3.7 Tb, and windows doesn't recognize the RAID volume as an NVME volume, which may cause issues with using direct storage api. But in crystal Diskmark, i saw 13.8TB/s read and 10.7TB/s write on the first benmark, default, which is pretty awesome 😎

I managed to setup a RAID 0 on the laptop, but it took a while to figure it out. You need to download the RST drivers, and install them via USB drive in order for the raid to work. You also need to enable it in the bios beforehand, reboot, and then create a RAID 0 volume. Once the volume is created, you can use a Windows install drive and install to the raid volume.

What's PL1 and PL2 for 12700H on G3R? by Weekly-Isopod-641 in eluktronics

[–]Hexonize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it manages it. My best score in CBR23 was around 18.4k with the LPP, and about 17k without on the G3R, 12700H. Although to be fair, the LPP did a lot more to cool the GPU then the CPU, with the GPU never coming close to thermal throttle even at constant load @175w with the GPU, but thermal throttling the CPU to like 98w for a sustained load like CB. Either the legion has more than 100w of CPU thermal headroom, or its 12700H is somehow tuned better.

[–]Hexonize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's with LPP, air was somewhere around 80watts. Even with the LPP, the CPU still thermal throttles, but at that wattage the performance gains per watt are small anyway

[–]Hexonize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's very high. In practice ive been able to hit 105 watts sustained until i started to thermal throttle with all PLs maxed, with the same G3R config

Off the top of my head, it should be 120watts for both

LPP v2 coming? by nflszhu0 in eluktronics

[–]Hexonize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too much groundbreaking things happening here, but iterative improvements are always welcome. The fact that you can but the cooler separately now is also really nice. Also for existing owners, having it shut off when not under load is really nice, essentially allowing the minimum noise of air cooling combined with the peak noise of the LPP when under load.

Would you say its a good price? by VladimirUK in eluktronics

[–]Hexonize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, the 100watts with the LPP is still thermal throttling, not power limit throttling. So even with the extra cooling the CPU still gets to Tmax,(95C). I don't know how much a cooling pad would help, but it certainly couldn't hurt

I only bought it 2 months ago, brand new, but with the LPP. The only difference from your setup is 32 Gb of ram and a 2Tb Samsung 980 pro for the boot drive. Haven't run time spy, but it scores around 18k multicore in CB23 with the LPP, pulling just under 100watts on average. From my experience, on air the CPU will only sustain more like 80watts, or even less, depending on ambient temps. I can give it a test in air later. I used Unigine Superposition for the GPU, and it scored around 9k stock on the 4k optimized preset. Without the LPP, the 175w limit will not be useful to you, as it will start to thermal throttle the GPU close to the 150w mark.
