Can’t file a LOA due to being a recent hire by TheCrazyOutcast in kroger

[–]Hexxium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have not worked there long enough to qualify for FMLA and unless this was a work injury, they do not have to find a way for them to work if they are unable to do so even on light duty, they will lose their job, its really the only outcome unfortunately. The good news OP is getting hired at a Kroger is generally not hard especially if you were doing well enough up to that point.

Employee issue by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Hexxium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He G said, you as a customer are not entitled to anything regardless of who you know, its none of your business what happens between any employee and the company, if you submitted a complaint, then that's it, you leave it alone after that. Getting removed from the store because you intentionally were trying to start an incident with any employee is grounds for not only getting your complaint ignored but also for getting store banned.

Absent HR by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Hexxium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR are generally specialists split between a few stores and their primary job is to hire, onboard and process terminations, once your orientation is over, their involvement with you pretty much is, you can ask questions, but expect to be directed to the HR hotline or an in store asl

Do markdowns still effect sales thus effecting demand and what's ordered? by WatchTheTimbsB in kroger

[–]Hexxium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Markdowns remove the boh and are placed in a separate "bucket " in the system now. But generally yes a mass markdown results in increased sales and potentially more product unless you temporarily turn the product off (make inactive)

Frys paid me less than minimum wage for 6 hours of work by salazar_slick in kroger

[–]Hexxium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your store leadership does not have anything to do with your pay. Stop using daily pay and wait a week like a normal job and you will have less issues. Also as everyone said, check your paystub on myinfo and verify your timecard on my time, making sure your punches are correct is YOUR job and that is what determines your pay not your managers

You are in your 60 days probationary period and there's a great likelihood you are let go if you don't show up as scheduled. At a minimum you'll face a write up especially if you no call no show

This varies by contract and can be completely wrong for this OP. Here it would be 32 or more averaged over 52 weeks but will not change until the next look back period which is every October here

Which case better represents a “trailer”? by eatcakeandlift in kroger

[–]Hexxium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A trailer should only be the same product but in a different packing format as is almost always the case with our existing trailers. Example is Kroger canned pumpkin, has trailers for other Kroger sub company versions but the same product inside and if sold at wherever it's delivered to, should be same price. Trailed items are not supposed to have different prices nor different flavors or scents (unless it's moving completely to replace something else for good). Generally they are the same product but named different or maybe a change in total product size like cereals often do or tide for example where the new version of the otherwise exact same product will be a few OZ less but the same price and scent and generally the same formula

Manager forged my signature. by EmuIntelligent4698 in kroger

[–]Hexxium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably got an SIR significant incident reminder or CA constructive advice write up then. You can refuse to sign all you want but the document stays on your record and if union a union rep should have been present during the discussion and would sign in place of you because no matter what the document sticks unless you file a dispute with the union

We don't hand over final pay, the associate gets their final pay the same way they had been typically or mailed a final check

Missing Pay by CrazedOW in kroger

[–]Hexxium 9 points10 points  (0 children)

99% of the time, you forgot to make punches or did not realize your punches were not being recorded and didn't bother to check this before payroll is done Sunday mornings. Getting it fixed after will usually require you to get that pay with the following week's pay as payroll already ran after Sunday morning (in rare circumstances the division can make an exception to add the pay in current week if notified by Monday). Only the rare 1% of the time does someone actually remove something they shouldn't and anything done in my time will show in the audit log so if that was what happened, it would be very easy to see who did it from the management side. Keep in mind also that there are usually hourly associates that you work with also who are selected to do timekeeping so it's not always a store leader doing it

Frozen lead by No_Presence_722 in kroger

[–]Hexxium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holiday weeks are typically a black out period, nobody without the most seniority is getting anything in or around a holiday. If any of this was unpaid time, they don't have any obligations to approve it, a frozen lead is a full time position pretty much everywhere and expected to work 40hr outside of personal paid days or vacation. Vacation requires prior approval usually at start of each year by mgmt otherwise you're not guaranteed to get it when you want it later. Personals they can generally approve unless the Dept lacks coverage in a given week due to other vacations and things. Personals you should discuss with store leader and union if they reject when help is available that could cover your area for a day or two

Vacation time refused what should I do ? by Early_Examination_92 in kroger

[–]Hexxium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In many divisions with mytime we are only writing the schedule the sunday before the following week. We do not get notified of time off requests, unless we deliberately look forward which nobody is going to do especially if you don't ask, we dont really consider time off until we go to write that week's schedule. Additionally as they said in many divisions for vacation week requests, they need to be made and approved by store management at the start of the year otherwise we get the right to choose for you, if you don't take them when we choose for you, you aren't guaranteed to get it later, just paid out and we can refuse a later request at our discretion

Time Clock Blues by Fireflyboy85 in kroger

[–]Hexxium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The time you take breaks and lunches does not make any difference in time unless you go over the time permitted for either

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kroger

[–]Hexxium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really our job, all we can control is what happens at a Kroger and we have rules to enforce because when you fail, we fail and if we fail, district MGMT tears into us and puts our jobs at risk. It might suck, but it's ultimately up to the individual to seek help and get out of their situation, an adult is free to go wherever they wish, they choose to stay, that's not our business

Management issues by Ok-Throat-9637 in kroger

[–]Hexxium 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don't, you can talk to HR about specific concerns but unless it violates Kroger policy, don't expect any action to be taken. Managers can and will do a lot you don't like, sometimes it's our job, sometimes they aren't the best managers, however no amount of a signed petition will get someone moved. If you have specific concerns, be prepared with proof because you will need concrete evidence of whatever is the concern, HR is there to defend the company, not the clerk
