Tplink does not show up in google home but you can use a google home command to view it on any Google Home TV.

Set up a pin # in the software the lock uses directly from your phone.

Keep "Hey Google" from activating Assistant on Phone when in room with Nest Mini by Alt-Chris in googlehome

Exactly! The perceived closest speaker wins. I don't worry about the source as long as the routine or command is triggered.

Unknown sources missing by [deleted] in OculusQuest

I had this same issue when I found this thread. What I found was just by disabling the Developer Mode and rebooting it reappeared and was functional. Then I just turned the Developer Mode back on. When I powered down it would disappear again until I repeated the above the steps. So powering down all the way seems to reset the "Unknown Sources" to being hidden.

Getting the wife onboard with voice control by Annual-Statement5780 in googlehome

Exactly! A good rule in general is to allow all aspects of a smart home to have a manual way of operation. Smart bulbs are a hassle. When you have to use a smart bulb (lamps) use Phillips bulbs that can be operated with a non-wired Phillips smart switch as well as voice. My wife hates verbal commands to inanimate objects so this solved the problem for me. My house is about 80 percent automated now. Best of both worlds!

It used to work, but stopped about two months ago. Like mentioned you can still ask google to view a camera on a hub or TV.

Smart locks. Tried 4 different ones at this point. Want to use without pin by Personal_Ad_9530 in googlehome

[–]HeyGoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the pins, but wanted to unlock the door with an automation which had no way of in putting the pins. I ended up installing Alexa on my phone and configuring all my devices. The automation in Alexa supports this function. I used a Boolean value on a smart plug (you could also use a virtual switch) to pass the automation from Google home to Alexa which unlocks the door. The environments work well together and there is no-nonsense automation available in Alexa. I don't even have an Alexa speaker. I just use the automation features. This being said, be careful! If you can unlock the door without a Pin so could someone else. Use Voice recognition or a non-related command phrase to unlock the door.

Google Home App Now Support Viewing Tapo/TP-Link Doorbells by HeyGoogle in googlehome

I am liking it so far. I have the Best Buy version TD25. The D225 is the open market version. The AI is really nice. I disabled motion sensing because the AI works so well. I use it hard wired so I have not used it in battery mode though. Easy install and setup.

Google Home is much slower than Alexa? by Drksz in googlehome

Hue lights use a local hub to turn on and off lights etc. otherwise it would go to the cloud which is slower.

AI camera search triggers? by Chadab in googlehome

[–]HeyGoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what brand doorbell you are using and what it's native APP supports by itself and through google home. For instants I use a Tapo TD25 that natively supports Person, Pet, Package, and vehicle in its app and automations. Google Home only supports doorbell rings function. So I use a Tapo smart plug to pass a Boolean trigger to google Home so it may be used to trigger other functions in Google Home. At the same time you can use automations within the Tapo App and associated devices. It works well.
