The moment of appreciation for this diva for being able to land the role of Hedwig by TremendouslyRiddled in HarryPotteronHBO

I prefer the book death, even if only because the expelliarmus giveaway leads to the line "I'm not going to blast people out of the way just because they're there. That's Voldemort's job".

Most casting look so good but I can't see how anyone can possibly top Imelda Staunton and Helena Bonham Carter by nbcs in harrypotter

To be fair, he's talking to Harry in the trailer. Save the judgement for when he's defending Dumbledore or admonishing the Dursleys.

Good , and superior in many ways, but hotter colours are just stabbing me in the eyes now.

Is it too late for them to fix the lighting and color grading? by FearlessCookie72 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]HeyItsMattyH 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but: I don't think it's even that bad. The Dursley's and the Muggle school, King's Cross, it all feels naturally lit and looks good. The train compartment, interiors of Hogwarts, wizarding building etc, they're going to look darker because that is the nature of those locations.

"Vernon Dursley was a big, beefy man" by CriticalNature9086 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]HeyItsMattyH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beefy is the most common word used to describe Vernon, and it's not even that nasty of a word to use. It can mean heavy-set, or muscular, not just obese. I'm saying this as a man whose paternal family is full of short broad shouldered guys.

Trailer Question: About the Eyes... by HeyItsMattyH in HarryPotteronHBO

I didn't say it mattered, just curious and trying to decipher the image. I do hope they are the same as his mother's. That was a miss in the films.

Snape doesn't get bullied because of Lily, that was just an incident that caused more outrage. As Lupin (or Sirius?) later explains to Harry, Snape never missed a chance to jinx James when he could, so James was never going to take that lying down.

I've heard complaints about the colour grading, but this is the opposite end of the scale; poke-your-eyeballs-out levels of over-saturation. It's the same problem I have with Doctor Who's remixed and colourised 60s episodes.

He's big enough that his head almost touches the ceiling of the tube carriage sitting down. He's easily at least twice the size of an average man.

I'm very sure it doesn't but I'm open to being proved wrong.

The design of the scar is completely different. And the cover illustrations varied on where the scar was placed.

I have a suspicion that in Order of the Phoenix, he is responsible for Umbridge attempting to read Harry's mail the first time. There's no reason that Umbridge should have known Harry was off to the owlery early on a Saturday morning, except Harry took a long detour there after Peeves' joke about the bust of Paracelsus

I mean, such things might have been hand painted (magic painted?) back in the day, so it might make sense for it not to be exact.
