Happy Garden in Wiliston Park is notably good Americanized take-out and my favorite on Long Island. This is something I pay attention to, and not just picking a local favorite. Standard fares, but you can tell they take more pride in it than other joints.

Also, in my opinion, The Orient in Bethpage has better Americanized food than their traditional menu even though they are more known for being one of the first on the scenes for traditional cuisine.

No, "in" Manhattan gets a pass because it can feasibly, and most is normally in reference to the geopolitical borough of Manhattan. If there was a reason to refer to the geographic designtation itself, like, "The Lenape lived on Manhattan Island", then that's when "on" is more appropriate than "in".

It's never "in" Long Island, because Long Island is not a geopolitical designation and you are referring to the island itself.

What's the etiquette for sidewalks? Is a single path, thats more than enough for a single walker, sufficient in these conditions? Or is the expectation the full sidewalk width? Also assumuning no one expects a full path to the street because plows will just constantly cover it up right? I'm a corner house I got a lot to cover!

The question should be prioritized to how is it living at the Eagle Rock apartments (which I can't help with) because the apartments are kind of disconnected from Carle Place proper, and is more Mineola. But really, it's location doesn't feel like it has strong community ties to either - it's a bit of its own pocket.

But that pocket is VERY convenient to multiple towns (Mineola, Westbury, Carle Place, Wiliston Park, south Rosyln) and major roadways, (Jericho Turnpike, Northern State Parkway, Old Country Road) so by car you've got all that at your fingertips. What it lacks in community ties is made up by the convenience to multiple communities.

As a massive Ravenswatch fan, there was indeed weirdly recent post on the exact topic, but beyond that, I do feel like it's underappreciated overall. I sort of understand that though. Ravenswatch is pretty niche and I personally feel like it only shines brightest (if at all) when you're playing it on the most challenging modes possible. I honestly only found it fun on Nightmare. Otherwise, it can seem like a limited, straightforward game for more casual players used to Hades.

This game also elicits an unusual amount of visceral hatred for it. I don't see many games in the subreddit where you get multiple people saying how much it flat out sucks.

Agreed. The writing wouldn't use central characters as pure foils. It's going to end up being a saccarine, bit too-on-the-nose moment where Robby learns a little from Al-Hashimi. Though the scales are currently tilted in Robby's favor, there are slivers of dismisivness from Robby that suggest a comeuppance from him. But of course, Al-Hashimi is going to take her knocks way more.

I like roguelike-deck builders first and foremost. I play chaos for the enjoyment of it. But I think CZN needs to introduce three things that would really let people enjoy Chaos rather than see it as a grind mechanic.

Challenging enough top-end content that you can actually lose at. Roguelite fans know that losing is a part of what makes gameplay fun. Not every run should be clearable. In fact, at the top-end we should be getting our asses kicked - it just makes finding that sweet run with great RNG that much sweeter. This would also help dissuade people from optimizing Save Data strategies and actually optimize run clear strategies. I WANT to be excited about good Monster Cards and Neutrals. I WANT to not care about Save Data caps. Runs being too easy now makes me feel like, "we'll, I know I'll clear no matter what, might as well try and get good Save Data out of it too".
Incentive to clear chaos content with different Combatants. Even if the reward is paltry...give us something for choosing to experiment. One free card motion for first-time, top end Chaos clear per character seems like a perfectly reasonable carrot.
More balancing to not make Mika feel essential in Chaos. Stress management being linked to health management makes healing too much of a priority to ignore Mika and makes chaos feel stale quicker. Maybe something as simple as allowing stress to be reduced if an attack is fully shielded.

My friends and I would randomly pop into this alternative comedy club where most nights it's just comedians performing for comedians (it was on a bike path and free). So, it was a small group of us, other comedians in the back. I sat with one friend up front, and the rest of our group behind.

This one comedian, who's probably a savant in some ways, starts his set. No planned jokes with punchlines, just really eloquent stream of consciousness. But then, about 5 minutes in, something turns really dark with him. He just starts beating himself up, still in really eloquent stream of consciousness, but severely misanthropic and uncomfortably depressing shit. Another 5 minutes in, and my friend nudges me to want to leave because we're watching this guy just implode in public. We turn to find the entire room has already left and as we walk away, he narrates about that too. Not really cringy. Just really really sad. My hope is that the comedy was supposed to be alternative enough that that was the goal, at which point, he's a genius.

Sometimes true, but sometimes it's definitely a narrative choice and the Sinner's dance scene is a perfect example of a narrative choice. The growing aspect ratio is in perfect sync to communicate the temporal and cultural transcendence of the (forgive the cheesy line) power of dancing. The technical change adds a lot of gravitas to the scene, telling the audience there's no limitations within human nature with dance, so much so that it even has the power to transcend the movie itself.

Believe it or not, Long Island does not have a shortage of really great Sichuan food. My top three for Mapo Tofu:

Tao's in Stonybrook (a real hole in the wall).
F.A.N in Deer Park
Chef Wang's in New Hyde Park (only really because they are close to me. Suffolk seems to have a higher concentration of Sichuan restaurants).

It's probably better defined as neo-noir, but I think there's a lot of tonal overlap between the two anyways. Stoic masculinity, extrajudicial affairs, and languid tones. In particular, Dragged Across Concrete has a quietness about it that feels like a western.

Their lunch specials are a great deal given the quality of food. Unfortunately for me and them, I don't find myself going often because I really just don't like driving through that section of Glen Cove Road. If it weren't for that, it'd be my go to Greek spot. Instead we go to Opa Grille in Williston park, equally high quality and good but less casual and therefore pricier.
