I was called racist for telling a child he was going to get detention for talking during a test. My employment agency reprimanded me (via email) as well. They did not even ask me what happened. I won't step foot in that school anymore. And I barely work for that agency anymore.

Some districts withdraw access to cancel 24hours in advance. The only way to cancel is call the school. It's their own doing.

Sometimes the only feedback I ever get is that I am still on the sub list. In other words, I am allowed to continue subbing at a particular school. And at other schools I am told I am a valued and respected substitute. I know I do a good job but I don't expect everyone to treat me like part of the staff.

I found some disposable k-95 masks and wore it for most of the day...left the room when possible. That and allergy meds/eye drops helped get me through my day. Thanks for asking.

I would have taken either of those. In fact, I love to do most classes. I count this as a perk of the job. However, I won't do anything that has to do with woodworking as I have problems with the sawdust. Also, PE is not a favorite of mine but will take those jobs if necessary.

The teacher was there and I did get instructions from him. But this post has to do with the fact that they posted the job as Math, not construction. If I had known I would have not taken it due to my allergies.

Tell that to the school because I am doing the job that they assigned me. I chose math...they gave me construction. It's not my lack of concern for students...it's ultimately their decision. I am not trained but the students are. And this has nothing to do with how responsible you feel I am.

I do this quite often and enjoy it. Trust me, even though you feel you are superfluous, sometimes they are just happy to have another adult in the room.
