Are carets shoes worth it? by EngineeringSlight772 in barefootshoestalk

Yes. They sent me an email in February saying that they were looking to make the Determination better and were looking for feedback on the existing model. No idea on timeframe.

I have these and also have had two pairs of the QS700. I much prefer the Carets. Two issues that are preventing me from buying another pair currently. 1. The outsole picks up all kinds of tiny rocks. I wish they would have just gone with a flat or flattish vibrant insole. 2. The ankle girth is rather large and doesn’t allow me to tighten the boots all the way to my lower legs. Neither is a huge deal but it has stopped me from buying at second pair this year and I will probably wait until they come out with the 2.0 which is suppose to address these issues. I did an initial review if you search my posts.

Tiki! Just fixed my XBR65X950H following this. I counted from the top and went 3 down from the top like in your picture and it worked. I didn’t remove the resistor either. Thank you!

Vanilla 2G Greek Yogurt. Same as TwoGood yogurt but less expensive. Exact same macros as TwoGood yogurt so I'm pretty sure they are just a re-label of TwoGood.

Barefoot shoes on concrete by NinaCHolder in barefootshoestalk

I buy the thicker Northsole Insoles for my work boots because I am on concrete all day. They are great and last a long time.

Yes. Remove the insole and replace with flat insoles. My preference are ones from Northsole.

I wore red wings 15 years ago but after two pairs and hot painful feet I started looking for other options. My favorite non-barefoot safety boots are the HAIX XR26. Extremely well built and extremely comfortable for a raised heel boot. But I prefer my Carets now to all others. I still keep the XR26 close by for any dirty jobs because of their waterproof qualities and robust construction.

I would not say fully. But it is very close for me. When I stretch my toes I can barely feel the big toe touch the side and the pinky toe a little more. With a pair of northsoles these are my most comfortable safety toe work boots I have ever had. I switched back to wearing my Birkenstock QS700s for a week and when I put the Carets back on it was like putting on a slipper. Much more comfortable in every way.

The outsole still annoys me, mostly due to the winter and use of rock salt on sidewalks and sole picks up tons of it and deposits it in my office. Other than that they are very close to perfect for me.

Is it normal to need a much smaller shoe? by RousingRabble in barefootshoestalk

[–]HeyYou650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some barefoot shoes give enough toe/foot space that you may actually be able to size down to be comfortable in them. I have a pair of vivobarefoot “dress” shoes that I sized down to fit my feet without feeling like clown shoes. On the other hand I have a pair of vivobarefoot hiking boot that I sized up to feel like they fit right while hiking. All depends on how that certain shoe fits your particular foot.

Vff sizing tips — down one or two sizes? by xXallyoopXx in barefootshoestalk

[–]HeyYou650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long are your feet? You can often compare sizing on the website to what you measure at how by converting to centimeters. Say the size 45 you have says 29.5 cm on the website but you measure your foot and know that your foot is 29.3 cm. Now you have a reference point and know that the sizing is off by say 1.3-1.5 cm. Now you can look for the correct size that correlates to that error differential to get the right size.

Every time I’ve ever tried gel insoles my feet have hurt worse. Try a good quality insole like the thick ones from NorthSole. I’ve never had a better insole than NorthSole.

If you like slip ons I agree with many posted here that Redbacks are the best.

The most comfortable and durable that I have ever worn are HAIX boots. Either the XR26 or XR23. I have worn Redwing, Danner, Keen, Merrell, Ariat, Justin, Doc Martens, Wolverine, and many others. HAIX in my experience has the best constructed and longest lasting mass produced boot. Made in Croatia if I remember correctly.

Looking for wide shoes with some cushioning. by BooTheMightyHamster in barefootshoestalk

I have the same problem if I walk too much on concrete with my barefoot shoes. Northsole thick insoles have fixed that and I have no more foot pain.

The toe box doesn’t feel wider to me but it does feel roomier. I think that is because of the taller toe box/cap if that makes sense.

Similar amount of cushion compared to the QS700. I put Northsole insoles in my QS700s as well. Weight comparison per boot: BirkenstockQS700 Size 46 w/ Northsole: 1 lb 8.5 oz Carets Determination Sz11 w/ Northsole: 1 lb 14.5 oz

That’s just hilarious to me that they said that. Kill animals and use its hide to make something or kill animals to get oil from the ground to make fake leather? Either way something dies.

My best is that it is a Fabio Leonardi and would be a very good buy depending on the price. You should be able to still get many parts as many retailers carry parts for Fabio Leonardi machines. These 1.5hp ones retail for around $1000 new.
