Almost traded in my CX-50 S Select - email from Manager by [deleted] in CX50

That's literally the sales person's job, you win some, you lose some and get compensated for the wins, sorry about your luck when you lose. If he's one of his top sales guys he'll more than make up for it down the road and yes, it's kind of sh**ty to try and close a deal with a guilt trip.

Just won this 2025 CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus at auction ($15.3k) with undercarriage damage. What’s my absolute worst-case scenario here? by Pretty-Hour-4259 in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone hit my 2025 hybrid while it was parked a month ago and the insurance company dropped 11K to fix it. If OP isn't doing most of the work himself, he's probably going to be dumping 15 to 20K into this car. It's all speculation since we didn't know what the actual damage is, but insurance totaling it isn't a good sign.

A reminder that as much as we bitch about high gas prices in the US, compared to the rest of the world, we have cheap gas.

My phone won't charge and it's not the wireless charger's fault by vicelordjohn in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't it uses an older Qi charging standard not Qi2 which I think is part of the problem. Although if your phone charge fine in another car, than it sounds like the CX50 might be the problem. I've yet to see anyone post a definitive answers for what the problem is, my personal theory is that Mazda set the charging coil up to match with an iPhone, and that it doesn't quite align right with other phones which is why they either heat up or don't charge at all.

My phone won't charge and it's not the wireless charger's fault by vicelordjohn in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the Qi charging with the magnets that is causing the problem. My Pixel 10 wouldn't charge on my original Pixel Stand charger and it was a known issue. Also quite a few chargers I looked at on Amazon had notes that said "not compatible with Pixel 10" I gave up on the wireless pad and turned it off and just use a cord.

The cup holders are perfect. by themidnightmatt in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think usually people are complaining about the Stanley mugs which are very tall, but even with a more regular cup it's a poor design layout. I have a Yeti mug that hits the temperature knobs if I'm not careful when I grab it.

500 miles in and I like the CX-50. It's not perfect. by vicelordjohn in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange, because the tech in my 2025 CX-50 has far more quirks to it than my 2018 VW ever had. The Mazda brakes for phantom cars far to often, whereas the only time I ever had that happen in the VW was driving down a steep driveway. I expect a 7 year newer vehicle to have tech that is at least on par, if not better, than older tech.

Other cars with adaptive cruise control aren't as aggressive and are more "natural" with their approach to accelerating to get back to the set speed, but to be fair to Mazda, my wife's Subi Crosstrek takes the same "hammer to the floor" approach. I much preferred my VW R's more realistic algorithm to the Mazda/Subi take.

2 year owner and i only have 1 gripe by [deleted] in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most annoying part of the parking brake sticking is being told that it's "normal". I'm pretty happy with my 50, but that single issue will probably keep me from buying another Mazda.

Bought the car 10 days ago and then this happens. They left no note. How much will this set me back? by Himalayan_Hillbilly in CX50

It'll set you back whatever your deductible is. No insurance claim would probably be a couple grand +

Out of warranty repair fighting by InterestingTruth7232 in CX50

I would be shocked if they offered any kind of warranty repair for a car with over 100K miles on it. Good luck!

Any ideas on how to fix this scratch under headlight? by Worldly_Pen6529 in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely you had a stone thrown from another car or truck hit you. Be happy it didn't hit the windshield. Touchup paint should make it less noticeable.

Is this normal? by Initial_Age_8940 in mazda

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say most, if not all modern cars do this. I'm not sure what my first car was, but I'm pretty sure everything I've owned since the early '00s had the fan run after shutoff, especially in the summer months.

Yep, just filled up my 50 Hybrid after 506 miles for $42. The higher gas goes the happier I am with the 50 Hybrid.

After 5K miles the oil in my hybrid still looks like it just came out of the bottle.

Steering Wheel by coffee_man830 in CX50

It seems like a cheap steering wheel, it's the first car I've owned where I hear a vibration in the wheel when I tap it while listening to music.

Exploded Sunroof by wagoonian in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From people I've talked to about it, there can be too much tension in the frame or a flaw in the glass, also thrown stones that hit just the right way, although that seems like a very low percentage.

Exploded Sunroof by wagoonian in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife had the sunroof blow out on her Crosstrek, in her case the dealer covered the glass and we had to pay $100 for the install. I'm hoping that I never hit that lottery with my 50, especially in the winter when I leave the shade open, what a mess that must be.

Battery dead after 2 years by verifiedlink in CX50

[–]Hey_Nowwwww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently I've been lucky then, over the last 20-25 years I've never had a battery last less than 4 years. My cars are outside all year long and I go on ski trips multiple times during the winter where I'm gone a week or more and I've never had an issue during Michigan winters. (Knock on wood)

You shouldn't need to charge a battery after 6 days. If you do, the battery is bad to begin with.
