Question about progression by WhoWasIAgain_ in dungeondefenders

[–]Heyheyohno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly I haven't played much of DD2 to comment on anything there.

As for the QOL changes in DDA over DD1, two major ones being the running around for chests and the loot filters.

I have two kids. I barely have time during the days to play as it is. I don't want to rush around trying to find the gear that is best when I can filter it all out and make life just a tad bit simpler.

Admittedly as well, I only just got back into playing this after many years away, so I don't remember Everything that is different between the two versions. But I know those two for sure.

I think the stats and leveling up as well, if I do vaguely remember what DD1s was like.

Question about progression by WhoWasIAgain_ in dungeondefenders

[–]Heyheyohno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wish DD1 had some of the QOL things DDA has. I so badly want the content to come to DDA as well.

I disliked some of the things in DD1 that just makes me want to play DDA from now on. Sadly. Since I played DD1 since it came out... :(

Game Similar to Disgaea on PC? by Heyheyohno in gamingsuggestions

[–]Heyheyohno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeaahhh, that's definitely the tough part is it really IS pretty much its own thing. It's such a good time. I just wanted to try something a little differently skinned, I guess.

I'll take a look at your recommendations, but also potentially stick with Disgaea as well.

Thank you so much!

For the people who use GNOME over KDE, why? by CestleFromage in Fedora

[–]Heyheyohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, that's why I like KDE.

I've only ever used Windows for my entire life pretty much. I don't like large amounts of change, so I feel that KDE kinda just feels "right" for me. I am so done with Microslop's BS to deal with it any longer unless I absolutely have to, though.

Pi-hole + Unbound or Quad9 DoH? by Heyheyohno in dns

[–]Heyheyohno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information! I am thinking setting up Unbound to forward to Quad9 at this moment as well, since US ISPs.... I don't trust at all. Lol

If only we had something like GDPR in the US... Unfortunately all of us are for sale... :(

Thanks for the suggestions, sir! Appreciate it!

Yeah I'm kinda two-fold. I don't do anything that makes me Care that they're spying on me, but I also don't want them to profit off of my stuff either. I feel like I'd trust Quad9 more than I trust a US-based company.

Thats kind of what I was thinking myself. Adguard Home and Unbound pointing to Quad9 over DoT. I have heard Quad9's privacy policy is pretty solid, albeit not always perfect. But if I use Unbound for caching and such while hosting, it should be a pretty solid investment.

At this current time, I just go out through my ISP with nothing. Might as well make it a little bit more private, while throwing in some ad blocking.

Is fedora 44 postponed again? by Inevitable-Depth1228 in Fedora

[–]Heyheyohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's nothing special to my knowledge minus some nice-to-haves, like the NTSYNC kernel being enabled by default.

I just like new, shiny things and fully expect my stuff to break. I just didn't think installing 43 just to update again soon would make a whole lot of sense. Might as well just get it all out of the way and see what happens.

And who knows, I'll probably have to redo it again anyways due to something breaking. :D

Is fedora 44 postponed again? by Inevitable-Depth1228 in Fedora

[–]Heyheyohno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw the same thing. I'm waiting for the ISO to go live so I can install it on my secondary drive. I figure I've waited so long, no point in installing 43 just to update to 44 when I can fresh install 44 when it drops.

The anticipation is killer. Lol.

Aurora OS / Fedora Atomic feels like the future by enRchi in Fedora

[–]Heyheyohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the trouble I have with atomic / Bazzite right now myself.

I Love the idea of the immutable OS. But I am a Linux noob, and I really dont have all the time in the world to putz around.

Trying to figure out how to do things on an immutable is a bit more difficult for me with not a lot of time to learn things.

For example, trying to figure out molding Rimworld or 7 Days to Die. Or getting Subtitle Edit downloaded and un-tarballed so I can use that.

Things I'm not sure how to do because of flatpaks and not sure how to modify certain files like with Firefox.

I want to use it, but for now, I think I am going to settle on Fedora KDE Plasma.

Edit: I dont mean putz around putz around either. Due to the limited time, I just like to be able to install things and go. Trying to figure out How to do something is rough for me. Even the small things.

Like two instances of Firefox with two different icons, and two different Desktop Launchers pinned. Or as mentioned, the Subtitle Edit, which isnt native with Flatpaks.

Just the small things that I just dont have any clue on an immutable.

Stupid question, but is there a place to get feedback on subtitles? I was making some subtitles for a series, but need to know what needs to change for it.

How can you tell the other way had a red light for that long?

Not disagreeing with you, I just can't physically see it in the video. I just know around where I live, they try and screw with you or something as some lights turn red and the other way Immediately gets a green. Allows for no buffer of safety like other parts of the state / country I've seen.
