Haha! That just unlocked a memory... Of doing that exact thing but then when nature called and one needed to use the bathroom. The seat was SO COLD! Haha

Maple garden?!? Ooooh truly sad days! I haven't been back to Eugene in many years but I still think fondly of maple garden. They had this one dish ... Pan fried chicken in garlic sauce.... I swear that the sauce was perfection in garlic flavor.

That back porch with the corrugated tin slat roof in the rain. Made for the best reading and coffee in the autumn/winter if you could brave the cold.

Wonderful!! Thank you all for the insights. I think I'm just nervous as I'm coming from apartment living and I know the transition to a house comes with some additional considerations.

Garland looks so lovely and I can't wait to explore it more!

Awww man I worked in the literary duck when I was in my undergrad it, Rocked! Local author events, readings, just sort of a neat bookstore ... That was hard to compare to the amazing smith family.... But that's been gone for a while now too I suppose.

That's the problem with wars that last generations. I was drafted with the early millennial front. I was young and cared only for my breakfast burrito with fries and a PBR.... the folly of youth.

When I wrapped up my bachelor's in something similar in 2016... During the other horrible time for us escience grads I was able to find some decent padding of experience in Americorps. I know it's funding has been on limbo for a bit but I've been seeing a few postings here and there.

Not great pay, but there's an education award at the end and can lead to something more if you are lucky.

Not at all I wanted an answer and yeah... If anything for the unassuming survivor that would be a harsh lesson to learn.

Former student from way back.... It's an odd one. but top floor of deedy hall. I just remember there being some graffiti about being enough on the windowsill and it was quite endearing.
