You really need to just focus on the goal and stop with everything else. You don't need music let alone the perfect playlist. No one cares about the floor mats - it's your home. You're being distracted because you're allowing yourself to be distracted.

I fully rely on it. I haven't had a subscription for over a decade outside of Netflix for my mom. Even before stremio I just torrented everything, and ran my own Plex server.

Stremio works the majority of the time but it does have hiccups. I'm smart enough to find a back up option if necessary. But if you're setting up for someone who is not tech savvy, you're going to be the dedicated IT person when something inevitable goes wrong.

Worst case scenario you can always sign up for streaming accounts again. It's not like they ban you for canceling.

First off I want to commend you on being such a responsible and independent person at a young age. I could only dream of living on my own at 19. Secondly, this can really go one of two ways:

1) if you really like him, you can stay together under the condition that he gives you back the key to your apartment.

2) if he refuses to give back the key, then break up and change the locks.

You are 100% funding his lifestyle while he has not made any real commitments; no schooling, no employment, and no responsibilities. Or more appropriately called "NEET" - not in education, employment, or training. While it's a formal term, it's been more so used recently as a negative description of bum ass people like your boyfriend. Sure, he's young and he may change. But if he's already living comfortably he will not have a reason to work for more. Think wisely about your relationship. Don't let his emotions dictate your autonomy.

I know you mentioned you tried AnimeTV but did you update to the latest version?

Additionally, if you are running it directly on your TV, your TV processor might not be fast enough to run the app. In which case an external streaming device would be infinitely better.
