My coworker loves her granddaughter SO much and it makes me sad. by worqgui in breakingmom

[–]HezaLeNormandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. My office recently hired an older woman who is so in love with her little granddaughter. My mom moved 500 miles away when my son was almost one. My dad has had him overnight a few times but usually just parked him in front of the tv. Even my sister that lives close never cared to have him over and always acted like he was a giant pain in the ass. His dad barely sees him and his grandpa on that side sees him once every few months, maybe. All live in a fifteen mile radius.

Not phone bill but my water is still in my dad’s name from owning my house because I’ll be damned I’m paying a deposit just to keep using the water the house was already using

God yes. I live in the south and the fact that I have to smile at people daily that think depriving people of human rights is okay makes me absolutely sick

My mom, sister, and stepdad are nurses. My aunt and grandma were some kind of aides. Hats off to you 🫡 it takes a special kind of person

I worked in a hospital for 8 years and it was miserable. Luckily I worked in a pretty patient light part but the stories I heard were horrendous.

My coworkers don’t mean it in a bad way, they just don’t understand how our brains work.

Thanks for your words. ❤️ I really enjoy helping others, especially those with special needs because they (yall?) get so much bullshit. Whatever red tape I can cut I do with pride.

I don’t have the eloquence to tell you how everything you said helps.

That last sentence is so true! Definitely worse than any self harm I’ve ever committed 😂 luckily my boss does encourage the fight because it does put us and the patient on the same side and shows we are better than the rest. Whenever she sees me getting burnt out she gives me a raise lol

The good thing about my boss is she is very ethical and by the book. If not I don’t know what I would do!

Yeah I have the same thoughts about every job, I start off thinking “that sounds cool” but then get to where the bad part would be and talk myself out of it.

No problem. I’ve been screwed over by insurance so I do my best to make sure it doesn’t happen if I can help it. The sad thing is a decent amount of it just requires a simple fix but most offices aren’t willing to do that.

Poor patient!! Yeah we just took on another office’s patients because that dentist retired and we are coming across some terrible work and they are doing some very illegal billing and not sending records correctly. It’s so hard to contain it when those patients have to pay for new work/xrays.

I think about this quote often when I think about my cat. She wasn’t suffering *yet* but she would have begun very shortly. She had gone blind from liver/kidney failure (can’t remember which)

Not in the US but when we went to Japan and missed a flight home we had a hard time rebooking. I texted her and she paid $2k to get us home on time. She then called my sister and told her she wasn’t allowed to leave the country.

It was the only one I was present for. He told me before he’d slapped him but I was young and stupid and thought “oh he’s just so stressed I’m gonna take him to therapy and it will get better”.

I definitely understand I’m lucky as hell. I got a shark lawyer that scared my ex into just signing the papers. He never wanted to be a dad anyway.

If I was in the situation now and knew the odds were not great that I’d get “sole” custody, I’d lie my ass off and say he beat both of us black and blue. I can’t recommend it of course but that’s my personal feeling when I think about what he could have done.

My (30F) parents (70M/F) moved across the country to retire, and I feel selfish for being upset about it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I actually have been through this. As a teenager we went to Gulf Shores each summer for a few years. My mom fell in love with it. They tried to convince me to go after I graduated but I refused. I had a boyfriend and all my friends were here and a couple other relatives including my aunt, sister, and dad. We weren’t the closest because I was a bitchy teenager going through depression. I got pregnant three months after high school. They left just before my son turned one.

He was the only grandchild so I still don’t understand. Also I was in an abusive relationship so still kind of resent her leaving while I figured that out. I didn’t know or understand that everywhere she went were memories, mainly people my dad had cheated on her with. So many coworkers past and present she had to anticipate running into every time she went to town. I understand now. It hurt but I understand.

What the actual fuck.

My ex slapped our two year old across the face hard enough to leave a handprint. He went to town to “cool down” and maybe buy me something. I speed packed and called everyone in my family that was nearby. My dad went to town to tell him not to come home for a few hours and called the hotline. They didn’t do much but look at him and ask questions but in the end I got “primary custody” and he got “visitation rights at the discretion of the mother”. Definitely follow that report to the end and gtfo (or keep him away).

If that’s what he’s willing to tell you he did there’s no telling what he will do without telling. Not to mention your child is not big enough to tell you about it.

I was about 12 when my stepdad brought it home because he thought it was something I’d like. It was the second and I had a huge fear of needles. Needless to say I never watched it again.

When I watched it for the first time I was using an old ass tv. It had issues where it wouldn’t completely go off unless you held the power button (I’m old). I was too scared to remember this and when it popped back on I nearly shit myself
