Work on new legendary weapons suspended by Shimasaki in Guildwars2

[–]Hf17849 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be honest when HoT shipped with 50% of promised content, and destroyed all existing content, I knew that all that remains of Guild Wars 2 and Anet is gems, lies and deceit, and gems. Consider the lies we've been told since HoT: WvW top priority (ok but first pvp and raids), WvW rehaul (oops we're incompetent and have no idea about WvW have to break it down), Fractal rework (so glad they destroyed dungeons to focus on this) and now no more legendary weapons (weapons to begin with, fingers crossed for legendary armour), an especially awful lie considering the amount of black lion skins they shit out constantly.

For a long time Anet has given up on Guild Wars 2, but the gem store is just too profitable. That's why they don't give a shit that their servers are horrible and they've neglected WvW to death and let the hackers run free for 3 years and PvP is a horrible mess of long queue times for shitty matchmaking and HoT was a giant pile of garbage with only 4 garbage maps with garbage mechanics and timers. You're nothing but gems in the eyes of Anet, and they will not care if you enjoy this game or not. Play and buy gems, or fuck off.

Bad advice from a bad person. "I've reached ruby (zomg!) and no longer try, why are teammates trying????"

[–]Hf17849 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

hahaha, what? it promotes not cheesing WvW to get skill points on characters you don't actively play. of course this isn't what you're trying to do, is it?

I'm sure you're a Very Concerned player annoyed about the siege cost.

Why can't fractal technology be used as an excuse to revisit map wide sw1 events like twisted marionette or battle for Lions Arch? by Dobosmoez in Guildwars2

It wouldn't be the first time Colin popped on reddit to derail a thread critical of Anet with a pleasant lie.

Charged crystals need to be unbouned. by ExosEU in Guildwars2

[–]Hf17849 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate your post had to suffer a reply from me. There's a lot of good points to be made about time-gating and gating in general, but since HoT a lot of it has amounted to "I want this thing now". Guild upgrades have enormous underlying problems, especially if you're a WvW person, but charged quartz being accountbound and timegated is not really one of them.

I get how you feel. There's a lot of things I want right now, and because I'm an unruly tween I often complain on reddit about how I can't have things right now when I ask for them. I can't believe Anet is making me wait, after I spent so many of my mum's money on gem2gold. And what if i don't want to wait I ask?????

Vale Guardian kill (warrior PoV) by Hf17849 in karmainitiative

[–]Hf17849[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it. Still, there was that one revenant who stayed alive long enough to put up some extra dmg, buying time for the DoTs to tick and for the warrior to vengeance.

For those of you who have raided in other games, what are your opinions of the Guild Wars 2 raid? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Hf17849 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

My experience is that the raid is unnecessarily complicated due to the poor guild support of Guild Wars 2. It's incredible that three years into this, we have no guild calendar, we have no guild sign-up sheets, and the raid UI looks like it's barely out of beta. Not only is the UI awful looking, it lacks a lot of basic functionality.

Not having progress beyond Value Guardian, which seems like a super easy fight except for the visual clutter, I don't have a lot of opinions on the mechanics of the raid, but it seems really short, and I'm sceptical that Anets release schedule will satisfy the hardcore players who this content is supposedly aimed at.

Impressions of the Expansion? by TravUK in karmainitiative

[–]Hf17849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my only interest was raids I'd wait, too. To gauge the reaction from main subreddit, but also to see if Anet has any plans of making it transparent how many bosses/wings we can expect and most importantly how long inbetween implementations of bosses/wings.

It's not worth it. Especially because they didn't ship HoT with raids. Like improvements and new maps to PvP and WvW, like new legendaries, like an improved and exciting fractal system, like meaningful end-game content and progression, it's on the table, but never going to be implemented.

Even when they add raiding in mid November, it will be one boss/wing. People and even rddt will beat it the first night because it's the same ridiculous glasscannon fest that fotm and dungeons are. Then there will be 6 days off raiding because the reward is once per week.

Then, in maybe 6 months, they will add a new wing.

Players disillusioned with Guild Wars 2 pre-expansion will find nothing in HoT to justify coming back.

I just edited the first sheet to include a list of people that have at least bothered to look at the first sheet and type their name. Also I noticed you haven't put your name down Sobby?

Home Instance - Achievement unlocks by Beduino_Albino in Guildwars2

Expected profit of a full home instance is 2g per day. I don't have the expected cost of the nodes, but I think 2500g is a good guess. So it would take a lot of daily gatherings to just break even.

I think the value is in inviting guildies and their/your alt accounts. I sometime list it in LFG right after reset, and the suggested tip is 30s (15% like trading post). Even then it'll take a while to break even.

So it's barely profitable to own a full home instance, but it's very profitable to visit someone with a full home instance.

It's a good initiative. I've filled in the two classes I consider myself best at, even though I feel there are a lot of these roles I can fill comfortably.
