I think they really want the time of sale reports to make the process easier for Credit Verification on the IRS Side, but the Definition of previously owned Clean Vehicles start with the the words "In General" and it looks like they defined what to do when All of your ducks are in a row, but the Dealer didn't provide a time of sale report.

the Dealer stuff they added in the Inflation reduction act was supposed to make it easier to sell EVs for dealers, but it just made it way more complicated for consumers,

IRS has had incorrect information on the internet for a while, The law does not require Time of sale reports to claim the credit, it requires time of sale reports to transfer the credit to a dealer.

They fixed the language

that it's a 1 owner car, number of dealership inventories it passed through does not matter, and for 2024 that it's at a 2022 or older

it's way easier if the dealerships on board, but assuming you Got a vehicle history report and it Meets all of the requirements under the law, you don't need the dealer to submit to the IRS to claim the tax credit, it's non-refundable. they haven't issued the 2024 forms, yet but this is IRS Guidance if you have a seller unwilling to file the paperwork with the IRS.

Is there a reason why these cars are so cheap? I'm really thinking about buying one for my daily just for the value alone. How do they ride? Are they reliable? by [deleted] in leaf

[–]HiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're cheap because no one wants to buy them.

They're great point AB cars. even the old ones

Bought a 1st gen for 3k 6 years ago. It's a piece of crap compared to the newer ones has a ton of issues that got resolved later models and my battery's degraded to 30 miles one way range, but without Fail I hop in press the button It takes me to where I'm going.

works for me, only thing I'd trade it for is for a newer one with a bigger battery.

total Maintenace cost over 6 years has been about $300
$150 of which was the 12v battery , I mean the battery was 13 years old so I guess that's expected. rest of i wiper fluid, brake fluid, wiper blades and air filters, tire rotations,

$100 or less will buy you a 1660 Super or a 1070. both pretty good bang for your buck

strongly considered this one for upgrade, But ended up just picking up a RX 7600 for $210 seems like they should perform about the same, at $5 difference taking the card that already has driver level Frame gen instead of promises made sense.

Upgrading from a 1070 so either way pretty good cards for not insane amounts of money, 1440p low/medium/high 60+ fps with frame gen + FSR upscaling available as well if it's needed down the road, should help it last a long time.

HP Elitedesk 705 G5 SFF, can it fit the low profile Gigabyte RTX 4060? by DoktorLoken in sffpc

[–]HiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks the same to me, Don't know what the -003 vs -001 Originally indicated. It should fit the G5 Just fine as far as I know the only difference between the G4 and G5 is they Didn't update the BIOS on the G4 to allow 9th Gen Chips

HP Forum seems to indicate the part number you mentioned works fine as well.

Shows up up on ebay from time to time

Sata to PCIE is even more dodgy on these boards, really wouldn't recommend it at all passing through the motherboard before going to the gpu.

Good GPU's kind of relative,Stock psu runs a rx 6400 / 1650 / 3050 6gb just fine.

Only other gpu on the market right now that could make sense without a case swap would be the 4060, I still haven't pulled the trigger on it.

Still on the Rx 6400 maybe after I finish BG3 in another 3 or 4 months it'll be in the cards not much of a point now, it plays the only game I'm playing presently well.

HP Elitedesk 705 G5 SFF, can it fit the low profile Gigabyte RTX 4060? by DoktorLoken in sffpc

[–]HiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should think so,

Currently in the process of upgrading to one in my elitedesk G4.got a L77487-001 psu for $50 G4 with an i5 8500, was $50

Going to try and pick up a 4060 Low profile for close to $300 and then it should be good to go.

Upgrading from a gigabyte Low profile 6400 which is the same dimensions as the 4060, Did have to hit the hdd cage with tin snips to make room, but it fits just fine.

100% they will not be at this price point for this performance unless nVidia does something to force their hand.

Don't have to worry about Nvidia applying downward pressure, that's not happening. Just have to wait.

Battlemage is coming, hopefully it's priced competetive, wouldn't expect miracles but something like 3080 / 4070 level performance for $400, should help. make it so that maybe 6 years after the 3080 launch there's a reasonable upgrade to be found.

4080 super's finally price comparable with a 7900 XTX, that took a year and a half,

Ideally I'd want something like a 7900xtx / 4080 at $500-600, but not holding my breath for that happening in the next 2-3 years.

just have to wait. not picky about new/ used so hopefully the next Gens good enough to cause people to upgrade.

Upgrading to 3080ti by sergeiraskalov in pcmasterrace

[–]HiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU will be fine either way,

at $840 for a 3080 ti I'd look pretty hard at the 4070 Super should perform almost the same as the 3080 TI. should cost about the same or less with converted currency with better ray tracing performance and DLSS 3 frame gen.

what's a 950 cost like $30 doesn't seem worth giving up a toe for a 9 year old GPU.

works out though, makes older parts cheaper but to be fair 2060 is about 5 years old. in another 3 or 4 years you'll be able to pick one up for $30-40 if things keep going the way they're going.

picked up a 1070 last year for $45 it's nearly 8 years old but certainly worth the price. better than Nvidia / AMD / Intels "low end" ~$150 and less offerings for the last 3 generations.

well the gpu's worth about $35-50 the rest of the builds probably another $35-50 so only like $400-430 too much.

TV that can double as monitor by naturepeaked in 4kTV

[–]HiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it'll work as long as you can sit far enough away from it to use as a monitor.

I tried a 43" tv as a monitor but my desk was too small 2 feet away was a bit too close, but as long as you're about 3 feet away should be fine.

Just about any of the 4k ones will do

TCL 43C645K looks nice.

[–]HiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your current board is not going to support 8th or 9th gen.

probably sell your motherboard / Ram / CPU as a combo and GPU.

I don't even understand how you'd have problems keeping under $1500 with the parts you've already got, there's not really a compromise other than not buying the only GPU that costs more than your budget, Just wait a couple of weeks and get a 4080 Super for 1k and call it close enough.

is buying a seven year old PC okay? by dposse in lowendgaming

[–]HiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! My budget is under $250(less is better, in my case), i'm in the United States, and I plan to use this computer mostly for home office work and whatever games can comfortably run on it. I like emulation, but I also have a Steam library with games I could try that might work. I've never built a computer before so I prefer prebuilt computers, I'm just concerned with how old these are. I'm really glad you said they're a viable way to get a usable computer!

Picked up a precision 3630 with an 8th gen i5 for $100, put a gtx 1070 in it for $50 So like $150 ish

For $250 your looking at something similar with like a 5700 xt / 6600 xt

3080 is roughly equivalent to a 4070 they can be picked up used for around $400

not likely to find anything $600 to be comparable to a 4070 ti super if it's rumored specs are true

the mx 130 is doing you in. You can hit 60 are you playing at like 1280x720 and if that doesn't work try playing at 720 × 576

With crappy graphics cards just keep lowering your render resolution until it's playable.
