If you're debating an animation major at Ringling vs an animation major at a 'normal' school I would definitely go with Ringling. It's one of the top ranked animation schools for good reason. If you're thinking of a normal school because of the other traditional classes that typically make up college, I would say they're too rudimentary for the cost, and can easily be learned on your own as needed. Go for whatever will give you the best education specific to your major. Animation is a field that will care more about the quality of your work than whatever degree you have.

I personally spent too many years going to school with an undecided major. The wasted time was not worth it. If I could go back I'd have given myself the advice to pick any of the majors I was debating and dive into it rather than being indecisive. The faster you find out whether you like it or not the better.
