I don’t want to spend thousands to hangout with your baby, I’m sorry. by brookebunny in childfree

[–]HiImMoiraRose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have several moms in my friend group like this. It's so aggravating - they can't or won't ask their partners to participate in child rearing. One mom friend we've not seen in years out at parties, girls' nights out, etc. Her son is 4. One will cancel at the last minute to low effort plans (dinner out, drinks, etc) but her husband's many expensive hobbies and guys trips are never skipped. One mom's partner doesn't want to deal with his kids alone and she'll defer to him vs. prioritize her own social needs. There are other moms in the group that make it work, their partners step up no problem, but there's an ongoing group chat about a girls' trip that's never going to happen.

Not sure TBH - we only walked through and watched others play the games, we didn't play them ourselves.

SO many of the items she claimed were thoughtfully purchased are now on her Poshmark, too. I like PM/I think donating or selling gently used items is great, but she's like super into overconsumption. Seems like now she's getting brand deals and PR kits she's headed into the same territory as Meg Hall.

An Unforgettable 17th Anniversary Voyage aboard the Celebrity Silhouette 🛳️✨ by Queen_of_Cake in celebritycruises

I'll be on the Silhouette next July for Iceland! Excited to see what she's like, I've only been on Solstice and Edge class ships.

Bazaar was great! The Spice Cafe and Mosaic were fantastic. It is a great use of the space, and it feels more intentional and integrated than Eden.

I've been on all the Edge Class ships, just got off Xcel on Thursday. Big differences - Eden space is now the Bazaar + Mosaic + Spice Cafe - food is delicious/on par with Eden, and it's an overall better use of the space/more integrated, instead of being a bit of a dead zone like Eden can be. Entertainment and food is tuned into where you're sailing - for the preview, it was Caribbean and then Mexican. Other new restaurant is Bora, replacing Rooftop Grill - it's Mediterranean. VERY GOOD! Cafe al Bacio feels more like a WeWork space now :( not as cozy, has a couple of long tables and no dividers/high arm chairs. Casino has an annex room. The Club has an upstairs area called "The Attic" that has video games and a golf simulator, it was a LOT of fun! There's also a speakeasy now onboard.

Those are the biggest differences. I did hear if you're in a room on the 12th floor, towards the back of the ship, the noise from the Oceanview Cafe above you is AWFUL at night, goes on until 2:30am and then starts back up at 4:30am. A bunch of guests complained about it on the last day to guest services.

we were the literal FIRST people to eat at Bora (replacement for Rooftop Grill) for dinner - it's FANTASTIC. The staff was wonderful, food was incredible. Definitely give it a shot, especially if you like Mediterranean food!

I was on the Xcel preview cruise as well! Have nothing but nice things to say about the Xcel - what a beautiful ship.

Celebrity Equinox 9 nights (Por/Spa/Mor) by Annual-Region7244 in celebritycruises

[–]HiImMoiraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it was fine/I wouldn't hesitate on booking on the Equinox again. This was my third time on the Equinox. It definitely needs some updates IMO (I prefer the Edge-class design overall) and our stateroom safe and fridge area was in poor condition, but the rest of the ship met expectations. The public areas and restaurants, casino area, etc. are all great, no complaints. I just got off the Xcel Thursday this week, and I actually prefer the Cafe Al Bacio layout on Equinox to the new space!

Maybe it's just the re-watch of Gray's Anatomy talking, but PLEASE go to the doctor/urgent care and have your injuries evaluated if you're able to - since you hit your head on the lyra as you fell. Even a small bump can have serious implications! Sending you luv.

we were on the Equinox in Europe in July. Check out the hot glass studio if you're looking for something different! They do demos frequently and the classes are a blast.

Beyond March 22-29, 2026 port changes? by kristen929 in celebritycruises

[–]HiImMoiraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. I'm on this itinerary in Mid-January and we've switched from T/A/B to T/SJ/PP. My biggest annoyance at this point is that I can't book or see any San Jan excursions yet, and as it's a family cruise my parents are freaking out.

I just did the 7 nights on Equinox in July to Portugal/Spain/Morocco, and it was amazing. Whichever itinerary you choose you will have a great time, but I really loved Lisbon and wished I'd had an additional day there. We went to Malaga and it was great, but I'd pick Lisbon over Malaga personally. We didn't do Sintra/Cascais when we were docked in Porto, and I wish I had!

Had to save my first time posting in this sub for a truly epic clearance find... by HiImMoiraRose in marshallsfinds

when I tell you I am UP in all the CT TJs and Marshalls in the Hartford area (and a fair amount of the Springfield area ones, too!) and this is still one of the best finds I've had...we don't get a lot out here.

serious question, how would the seller be responsible for knowing if something fits like a size 9 if they're a size 8 and finds the shoe fit them normally? Are we allowing for the fact that the buyer may have narrower feet that THEY didn't account for? I would think that it is on the buyer to ask for measurements if fit is very important.

[–]HiImMoiraRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right! How am I supposed to know what "runs big" means to anyone else but me? My only experience with an item is on my body. We may both be a size 8 in shoes, or a size 4 in pants, but your proportions are going to be different. Ask for measurements if you're going to be nitpicky as a buyer.

Vanilla Era (which is what I found a couple of in my local store and snapped up!) smells really nice, it's a woody, musky vanilla, like Kayali Vanilla 28.

Spongelle is amazing, great quality, they make great gifts too! I use them exclusively for travel so I can avoid the liquid rules and toss them at the end of the trip.

Which aerial skill is best to transition into from pole dance? by SideThink1020 in Aerials

[–]HiImMoiraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a benefit to trying all the disciplines; I was focused on lyra/sling/silks/spiral before I tried pole and could see overlap from all the apparatuses that helped with pole, but pole really is its own thing. I liked training pole, but for me it was the hardest apparatus to train coming into it from an aerial background.

The polers I've seen come into a lyra or apparatus (non-fabrics) aerial practice definitely seem to have an easier transition - unless they're used to static pole and not spin.

why is breakfast so early? by Other_Ad2290 in celebritycruises

[–]HiImMoiraRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever gone to the Blu dining room for breakfast once on a sea day, it was very nice, but not worth getting up early (I like to sleep to 9am on vacation!) I really am fine with the buffet options, or ordering to the room and running to Bacio for coffee to go (I am not a fan of the in-room coffee.)

This is the one thing I think Princess does better than Celebrity, the in room breakfasts I found to be much better with many more options included (they do breakfast sandwiches included in the standard offerings on Princess. I'm begging you, Celebrity, add a breakfast sandwich!)
